While some views of mine may seep through in reposts, I have for years had a slight policy to not RT or address e.g. catastrophes or disasters or other things involving loss of human life.

I'm not following political accounts. Never have, never will. Not here nor Twtr. Nor want them following my fandom account tbf.

Less still now, even more so if all US nonsense.

Also, stop following me, ppl, as I always say when any turn up. I'm not in sociable/approachable states to 97% of people.

Thought experiment for y'all:

If putting Jared Leto into franchises is enough to kill them off, then what series would you *deliberately* put him in to get rid of it?

A new report suggests that the disastrous opening weekend for the Jared-Leto-starring sequel may lead to Disney pulling the plug on the Grid once and for all.

The nightmare scenario. When I hear calls for deplatforming most people, I always worry that if they can be deplatformed or kept from using banking services, pro-Palestine supporters will inevitably have their accounts terminated

I also got some helpful advice from Google AI this morning. Turns out the city in Texas is pronounced How-stun.
Query: is john huston pronounced houston. No, the surname "Huston" is not pronounced like the city of "Houston". The correct pronunciation for the director John Huston is closer to "HYOO-stuhn" (like the first syllable of "hue" followed by "stun"). This is different from how the city of Houston is pronounced,
which is typically "HOW-stuhn".

Happy 10th birthday to the most resonant political tweet of all time.

One day, people will get wise to right-wing populism, but seemingly not yet.

Doesn’t everyone get $150K from daddy for their Congressional primary? projects.propublica.org/itemizer/fil...
During the week leading up to a seven-way Democratic primary in Illinois in March, a super PAC called SunshinePAC blitzed the battleground 6th Congressional District with $130,000 in mailers and phone calls. Because it started spending money so late in the race, SunshinePAC didn't have to reveal its donors before the primary.
But nearly a month after the election, SunshinePAC revealed its lone funder: Tom Casten, the father of primary contender Sean Casten - raising questions about whether the super PAC was really independent from the campaign. By then, Sean Casten had eked out a victory in the primary by 2,177 votes.

Predator in chat apps is like fork being found in the kitchen.

They're too busy committing crimes they don't have time to enjoy/create fiction.

But sure, "you make/enjoy taboo/rape/gore fic therefore you're a criminal".

Solid logic/sarc

DeHaas said he founded Covenant Eyes to keep his kids from accessing porn on the internet. The app blocks porn sites as well as screenshots images from your device and sends them to your "accountability partner"

His son used the app Hush to lure a 14 year old for sex, asking for her to send pics.

@disneyprimevideo.bsky.social will you be adding a remake/reboot/re-imagining of this classic Troma film to your lineup soon? The recent rise in use of Frog costumes to protest ICE activities, and the threat to bring National Guard troops to Portland for a Frog Hunt, would suggest now is the time.

All of this is to say that DHS is taking their war on civilians -- and especially on journalists -- to the sky.

And "war" isn't that hyperbolic when you look at their gear. They're literally flying predator drones over large civilian population centers as super creepy surveillance.

In LA, most TV stations have helicopters. Not cheap, but flies above TFRs. Their overhead views helped me identify lies in DHS court filings!

Reportedly, a DHS helicopter chased away a TV station helicopter during ICE raid in Ventura. To be clear, airspace is NOT supposed to work that way. Scary.

FAA has issued MASSIVE temporary flight restriction which prohibits drones (i.e., photography) over Chicago.

They did similar around federal buildings in Los Angeles since June protests, but really no comparison...

Chicago's TFR covers 900x more area than ones in LA! 🧵👇

shortly: stories of AI psychosis follow the pattern of the hero's journey, with the person affected being told that they are some sort of chosen one who has gained access to an incredible power or truth before being ratcheted to a point of symbolic boundary-crossing (murder and/or suicide)

Some parents are letting their kids talk to ChatGPT in the guise of characters. Some are using it to tell bedtime stories or create coloring books.

"My son thinks ChatGPT is the coolest train loving person in the world. The bar is set so high now I am never going to be able to compete with that.”
‘My son genuinely believed it was real’: Parents are letting little kids play with AI. Are they wrong?
Some believe AI can spark their child’s imagination through personalized stories and generative images. Scientists are wary of its affect on creativity

2. One large (but not country-covering-size) frog came up. When they attacked it, it split into more.

3. One frog came up via Moses and Aaron. Then Pharoah's magicians repeated the "trick" to show it was no big deal. *Now* there were enough frogs to constitute a plague.
