Folks always make this point like “let’s form common cause with the nazis who care about their stock portfolio” and it’s like no, the point here is for suburban wine moms and bushwick queer commies to come together to slap nazis around.

Oh nooooo, Lindsey Halligan, this is not how any of this works

I should boot up the demo for that soon. Neat to see they shoehorned cheevos into it for the Steam-lease.
That isn't to say gacha games aren't still skinner-boxes or that it isn't a shame when way too much effort is put into their presentation, but I can get why people who subject themselves to them without forking over cash would only raise a stink about them when automated-plagiarism becomes involved.
Both systems require strict legislation and regulation acknowledging their ethical issues for either to even have the possibility of being made palatable to people with consciences, mind. And only one of the two has any governments properly cracking down on them.
Generative A"I" immediately exploits the users' whose content was used to train them prior to even the use of said tool(s) to create and subsequently implement assets with.

Gacha has a potential of simply not successfully exploiting someone fully aware they're interacting with a skinner-box.
I think I can get the idea behind considering Automated Plagiarism a bigger issue (or the only issue?) than the Exploitative Home Version of An Average Casino (i.e.- your average gambling intangible reward and/or micro-transaction system) by virtue of the immediacy of the adverse effect of each.

Lotta Black folks urging White folks to get out there and commit more than just the No Kings rallies, and lotta White folks Frustrated with a capital F at the temerity of being told this isn't enough.

I'm personally just enjoying seeing a reversal of who's being told to be the answer.

Sucks, huh?

"To a supremacist society, most of us are acceptable losses. Charlie Kirk is not. To a supremacist society, guns are allowed to kill most of us, and the pundits can debate later how sad our deaths were.

But guns were not supposed to kill Charlie Kirk."

Acceptable Losses
Whose deaths get to be deemed unacceptable in supremacist America, and whose are deemed necessary? And who does the deeming?

Hey everybody look at this disgusting piece of trash human who wants disabled people to completely exit society and doesn’t understand how community care works.

“Don’t expect the world to take care of you” is a depraved way to exist in society.

SCOOP: more than a third of new recruits at the ICE training academy have failed the personal fitness test -- so many that the agency has had to start pre-screening new hires to weed out what one official called "athletically allergic candidates" www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

It's funny, the no kings protests could be the best chace to normalize the idea of nationwide strikes in the US, if the organizers are serious. They do maybe 2 more on weekends to really lock them into people's practice, then say, "hey, let's show them we really mean business & do it on a Wednesday"

Just the fact that disabled lives are lives is enough. But it's actually more about more than lives.

This is bigger than lives.

It's our humanity.

You save lives. You live by those vaunted beliefs and practice them fully. And you restore our humanity.

The value of our weakest is /that/.

When you support and save another human life, regardless of their "use", that's when you're acting outside the ideology of supremacy, of fascism, of capitalism. To concern yourself with usefulness is to still be trapped in a mentality of exploiter and exploited--user and used.

It's taking care of our weak, our injured, our ill, our elderly and disabled, that is a sign of our civilization. That's when we broke away from brutal animals and that's how we got to the top of the food chain.

To not attend to our most vulnerable is an revolutionary and evolutionary dead end.

“If you’re angry about THIS, but not about THAT—“

Bro I’m gonna have to stop you there, I am angry about so many things all of the time, I have never in my life been angry about just one thing at a time, my capacity for “things to be angry about” is as wide and as deep as the sea

The use of large language models (LLMs, aka AI) is an insult to all crafts/art forms & all creators of those crafts/art forms

You, yes *you* the person reading this, are able to become good enough to carry on the legacies of those who inspired you to take up your chosen craft/art form

Don't use AI
Reposted by Francisco Eduardo Vila Hoz
ANYTHING "AI" was used in wasn't created & it was especially not created by any listed creator(s)

If creating is truly your passion then have enough basic respect for the craft to do the work yourself. There's countless real people who'll support & help you develop the confidence & skills for FREE.

"AI" does not help it pollutes & it stifles ones development as a writer.

Writing at the quality one wishes to is a skill one can develop & there are massive communities of skilled writers (many trans & indigenous themselves) who provide tons of free resources & support.

NO REAL CREATOR NEEDS AI.

I know Steam will never do this because they are libertarian in the dumbest and most annoying way but the GenAI disclaimer should be at the top of the page in bright orange the same way it displays when you don't have a VR headset or failed a purchase or some shit. It should be unavoidable.

for both artists and clients: if you use pinterest to make moodboards or plan designs, highly recommend making sure these are turned OFF
