Last week, Mary Robichaux ousted Kurt Wilson as mayor of Roswell, Georgia. Robichaux is a Democrat who served in the State House, while Wilson is a Republican, and it shows in the map. In his single term, Wilson has been criticized by both liberals and conservatives over transparency.

this case is maybe the single best example of one of the most destructive tendencies of this court: the tendency to treat their job as a collegiate legal seminar where they operate in hypotheticals rather than deal with the real world as it exists

While this absolutely sucks, we are going to see a lot more places implementing universal global age verification over this next year, because the number of states and countries legally requiring it has gotten to the point no one can keep up anymore.

The entire point of the cartel threat is that the targets can’t be sure the government will keep them safe. But there may be no one safer in America than DHS agents! They’ve shot two people to death and had their bosses blame the deaths on the victims!

The EPA is expected to revoke the endangerment finding, which has underpinned the government’s ability to fight global warming since 2009.

This is the 38th time that the U.S. military has unlawfully killed civilians on the orders of Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump. At least 130 people — never charged with crimes, their identities unknown to their executioners — are now dead.

NEW: Of all the states that voted for Harris over Trump in 2024, there's only one where a Dem governor is overseeing an ICE's 287(g) program:

Massachusetts.

Other blue states have quit, or even outright banned it. My colleague on what's happening: boltsmag.org/massachusett...

As part of a 287(g) contract between state officials and ICE, Massachusetts continues to release prisoners into deportation—even as state lawmakers look to ban other forms of ICE collaboration.

I think this is downstream from how Trump was reasonably effectively constrained by institutions, the courts, and his own cabinet in his first term. Low-info, highly partisan voters looked at that and thought that he kind of was George Bush again but with weirder gaffes.

This conspiratorial thinking is actually the easy way out that ignores addressing real, solvable problems that contribute to victim’s deaths. It ignores failures of the justice system, not fictional shadowy figures and assassins, to keep her safe. It ignores how she was punished by the courts

29% of bets say that more than 5% of bets in the Jesus Christ return market will be a "yes" 9 days from now.

Anyway everyone involved in this needs jailtime.

It’s incredibly frustrating to see people spread conspiracies that Epstein survivor Virginia Roberts Giuffre “didn’t really kill herself.” It ignores her allegations of domestic abuse against her husband before she did, actually, die by suicide. It’s a way to minimize how pervasive abuse really is
