extremely sad news that Asad Haider has passed away. i didn't know him personally but it'd be impossible to overstate how important his writing and editing in Viewpoint was to my trajectory. as I said last night, we are losing too many comrades.

Looking into UK schools for my kids for the Spring, their academic year goes until July 20 and summer break ends Sept. 1. Short summer break, but a lot more breaks during the year. Twenty-one more school days as well, really is a lot.

Was Will & Harper a farce? A big joke? I understand it is definitely about Harper embracing her identity and that it really resonated. But it is weird to do a movie about going out into America in your newly expressed trans identity, but also Will Ferrell is there the whole time.

I believe this wholeheartedly. Affluent liberals tank education across the board so that they can get tutors for their children and keep a leg up.
The interesting implication here is that affluent liberals have tanked standards but it doesn't matter for them because they have the money for tutors. Explosive if true!

We should not mandate AP exams.
If high schools and elite colleges are holding students and teachers accountable for AP test results, you have a strong incentive to fix this problem.
