I continue to believe that we can save everyone. We don't have to leave anyone behind. No human being is an acceptable loss. No one is a purity test. We all live or we all die. We just have to demand that no one be left behind.

It was pretty telling that a Seattle Times column about tech salaries included a median income chart that had "law enforcement officer" at the third-highest income—and that includes all law enforcement jobs (not just police) and does not reflect the latest large raises for cops.
Tech pay soars in King County — and the gender gap grows wider
The median earnings for tech workers residing in King County hit $163,600 last year, an increase of around $63,000 since 2015, writes FYI Guy.

And the hits keep coming for disabled folks, though this one has been a long time coming: #CDC employees are forbidden to WFH. There's no real reason for this, and it's especially cruel given that CDC offices were subject to gunfire just months ago.

CDC staff with disabilities feel stranded as HHS implements new policy
CDC is asking employees seeking telework as a reasonable accommodation to return to the office until their requests can be processed under a new HHS policy.

Transphobes will never be content with excluding trans people from public life, they demand that everyone hate us as much as they do, that everyone should be elated by our absence and furious at our presence. They are utterly obsessed with us.
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

I don't care if a non-disabled person accesses a disability accommodation for the same reason I don't care if a child whose parents are rich gets free lunch at school. We don't need to means test being a kind person. I have better things to do with my time than be a cop over social services.

and now more kids have long covid than asthma—and the number of people disabled by covid is only going to keep increasing, even if deaths aren’t quite as prominent anymore, because we’re letting infectious disease run rampant.
The end of COVID relief and the fact that we changed nothing—no new workplace safety rules, no single-payer, etc.—after over 1 million Americans died represents probably the greatest political scandal of the last 100 years.

If you need a gift this holiday you should consider @j0micrafts.bsky.social ‘s fucking incredible holiday candle Balsam & Berry. I like to support a local queer and latine owned small business for cute RPG themed candles, but this scent is something special

It’s World AIDS Day today. We’re thinking about the practices our communities have developed to keep each other alive—and the shifts we need to see in public health, from small groups to large institutions.

Not acknowledging World AIDS Day and engaging in COVID revisionism are straight from the eugenics playbook. One of the most effective ways of making people invisible is by erasing their history.

Zionism is the Jew-ish hat and tzitzit on Christian hegemony
It is a deep disgrace to the Jewish people that Stephen Miller, a man who would betray his own people to the Nazis as he goosestepped into the camps himself, is treated better by our institutions than Jews who publucly oppose the same kind of genocide and ethnic cleansing he endorses.

I can choose to inform or I can choose to be included. I cannot do both.

When someone says something that's offensive, I am choosing to further isolate myself if I inform them.

If I tell you that you caused harm, know that I am choosing to harm myself for the sake of spreading knowledge.
