"device hoarding" also known as: When someone hasn't replaced the one phone that they have in a few years because they had no reason to. Words used to mean things.
stupid young people, stop buying a new phone every year if you don't want to be broke. wait no, not like that.

1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

Kind of linking up to yesterday's question for #SecretSantaAoNZ are you a puzzles, or activity book kind of relaxer?

Oooh, that's interesting
It is a stunning arrangement of knit stitches and occasional yarn overs. The trick is to know which stitches should be knitted, but we’ll get to that part a bit later.

No worries, I'm sure the Wahine was a once off.
Gov's recklessness is off the charts, it's like they want a ferry disaster... All reminiscent of Pike River #nzpol

A lovely idea!

#SecretSantaAoNZ
This for me too, I would also be happy for my Santa to do something nice for somebody and tell me a story about it, no pressure to get the "perfect" gift.

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

Part 3

TV shows as you would expect from my other answers. The Expanse, Silo, Severance, Slow Horses, The Wire, Firefly (but fuck that creep Whedon), and evidently anything with Timothy Oliphant, Tombstone, Justified, Santa Clarita Diet. Must start Aliens: Earth!

Part 2

ALWAYS good SciFi, Banks' Culture novels, The Expanse, The Bobiverse and my favourite comfort listen The Murderbot Diaries. Sometimes Fantasy and LitRPG.

Way more TV than movies, but I'll always make time for Princess Bride and The Fifth Element.

TV in part 3

My chronic migraine brain doesn't tolerate music now, which sucks.

Book genres these days tend to be mysteries on the Golden Age and/or cosy side (no serial killers and not too gooey), espionage usually Cold War or disgraced spies (Slough House, le Carre), and (see part 2)

Part 2: Mythical creatures

Medusa is my absolute fave, having often been told I have a similar stare, particularly when aimed at men ;)

The Sphynx, the Kraken (obviously) and having had to reinvent my life again and again, the Phoenix.

Are you a cat or dog person? Pandas? Hippos? Dolphins?Dragons? Chimera? Nessie?

In the house, I'm all about cats, but dogs are awesome too.

I love most wild animals, but esp off-beat ones: Cephalopods, nudibranchs, bats, deep-sea fish, capybaras, beetles, manta and other rays, big fuzzy bumble bees, wasps (yes, really), naked mole rats. Hard to go wrong!
