hey i wrote a thing

massively disappointed in supertrick and gungho for what would have otherwise been a decent (but still not quite hitting the mark) let it die followup
I shouldn't have to write a lengthy critique of the use of genAI while discussing a series that, historically, has celebrated art & music. Do not buy Let It Die: Inferno, or realistically, any game that uses generative AI. Our review: www.rpgsite.net/review/19037...

If you're looking for something in Octopath Traveler 0, I probably found it and cataloged it. Bookmark this page to help you out later.

I also wrote out all of the Path Actions in the game. Is that a lot of work? Yes. Is it useful? Not sure! But I did it.
Playing Octopath Traveler 0? We've cataloged a lot of the game including Legendary Treasures, Crested Keys, Path Actions, the endings, and much more.

You can find it all in our dedicated Octopath Traveler 0 guides hub here: www.rpgsite.net/games/2512-o...

I actually appreciate that, since this track was specifically added for Octopath 0, it avoids being overused throughout the (long) course of the game, making it feel special when it does decide to grace a boss battle.
anyway now that the embargo is up i can say this is one of the best pieces of game music this year youtu.be/AqK7MslWrEg?...

Octopath Traveler 0 is a monstrous frankenstein of a game where you can readily see the seams from its reheated construction of a mobile game. But the end result is an endearing experimental swing-for-the-fences multi-arc story that grows on you, despite the blemishes. Here's James' review:
Octopath Traveler 0 is a messy, at times disjointed RPG that constantly betrays its unique development - yet at the same time it's an ambitious project quite unlike anything else that comes together strongly where it counts. We got a chance to speak with both Red Art Games and Square Enix's Akitoshi Kawazu about how the International version of Romancing SaGa Minstrel Song Remastered came to be.
"Releasing localized versions of Japanese hidden gems in the West and to give them beautiful physical editions is an idea that excites us." - Red Art Games on Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered International and Square Enix on the future of 'SaGa': www.rpgsite.net/interview/19...

This is very true. Due to our specified scope, we can't just post about the hot button topics or games du jour. Obviously we'll take advantage of big RPG releases where we can, but we have a lane to stay in. This refines our focus, voice, and cultivates a readership.
The thing about limiting the range of games you cover, I suppose, is you don't always have the ability to growth-chase with the latest shiny new releases, which forces a diligence that can build something which is, I hope, a bit more robust vs the whims of search engines etc. Audiences like it too

We're not quite done with November yet, but this month RPG Site has quietly broken several of the site's Nov records. Nov is a critical month in terms of yearly performance, so that rules. It hasn't even been driven by any big 'tentpole games' really, just good, diligent work. V proud of the team

Entered a small local college with no idea what to major in. Took a Physics class as a requisite 'lab science', and I got along well with the professor who ran undergrad research. That turned into grad research (at GT), a few years of Post Doc Hell, and then landed in the semiconductor industry.
What’s the lore behind choosing your career path ?

Hey, hey! I've made my @rpgsite.net (and game critic) debut with a deeeeeep dive look at a game I've been anticipating for years: @somethingclassic.bsky.social's Quartet.

How does it compare to recent retro revival RPGs like Chained Echoes, Sea of Stars, and Eiyuden Chronicle? Let's find out.
Inspired by RPGs of the '90s, Quartet is Something Classic's proof that they've grown up and become more confident with age, and that there's room for continued growth to match their ambition. Our review: https://www.rpgsite.net/review/18986-quartet-review

Hey it was great to get @aidanmoher.com on the site to take a look at Quartet for us. He gave 110% on his write up here, give it a read!

I had a chance to play a new demo of Nioh 3 and chat with Yasuda and Shibata at Team Ninja. Check out my interview (and preview!)

The TLDR is that I'm here for more Nioh combat and bosses, and the Samurai/Ninja switching seems like a fun twist, but I'm not so sure on the more-open zones.
RPG Site had a chance to sit down with Team Ninja to discuss Nioh 3, game difficulty, PC ports, rewarding exploration, and which Nioh mascot is best: https://www.rpgsite.net/interview/18997-nioh-3-interview-team-ninja-talks-exploration-difficulty-mascots-more-in-revamped-action-rpg-series

This game is really rad. It was in our top 5 RPGs of 2023. I hope they've polished up the localization a bit since then, though.
Wuxia RPG Wandering Sword will receive a PS5 edition on May 26, 2026. The PS5 edition will include all the DLC, as well as have full voice acting. The game first released on PC in 2023.
