Apparently Americans don’t like kings after all! #NoKings
Democrats just ran the table, winning the marquee races -- NJ and VA sweeps, NYC mayor, CA prop, PA Supreme Court -- and lower-profile races in red and purple states across the nation.

If the media you're reading or watching paints this as anything but a massive win, stop reading or watching them.
If armies run on their stomachs, then the fuel of the resistance should be reflected on its uniform. I am getting me one of these!

The next @raygunsite.com message tshirt has written itself. I want one of the “Smell the onions and mustard” shirts!
The trial of the D.C. sandwich thrower is officially underway—and the testimony of the “assaulted” officer is harrowing indeed.

The Border Patrol agent, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, testified he was not injured by the sandwich but that he could "smell the onions and mustard." trib.al/TKBbxXa
This is one of the reasons that I no longer buy Kindle reader books (and cancelled my Amazon subscription entirely) and now buy from Bookshop.org instead. It’s nice to have alternatives!
Brown shirts and all, as with so many things, they aren’t even trying to hide it. The playbook is clear.
This morning, I was hit in the face by a baton.

I’m going to have a pretty gnarly bruise but we need to remember why this is happening: Trump and ICE are rounding up our neighbors, treating them as subhuman, and shipping them off to labor camps in foreign countries. It has to end.
The cover photo on this post by @prospect.org perfectly captures the authoritarianism of the moment, both from the background image of who is behind it and the foreground images of who is enforcing it.
In Chicago, ICE agents are terrorizing immigrants and criminalizing people looking for work. Those who fight back have been targeted for abductions. From @sarahlazare with @workdaymagazine: trib.al/fL1e5t9
How ICE Terror Campaigns Are Used to Discipline Labor
While Chicago sees a surge of ICE detentions, workers are facing retaliation as immigrants when they advocate for their rights.

Oof. In new Quinnipiac poll, Trump's approval is down to 43-54 in *Pennsylvania.*

Among independents in Pennsylvania Trump is down to an abysmal 29-64.

Josh Shapiro's approval just hit 60 percent.

By the way, there are contested House races in Pennsylvania.

This week's news:

* many male elites approve of & participate in raping girls

* POTUS is a pedophile serial rapist voters chose TWICE over more qualified women

* he wants to decriminalize domestic violence bc it's so common it's driving up crime stats

Male pundits: "Misogyny is a side issue."
“O Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing” seems to be an appropriate prayer and plea for our context now as some humans are pursuing as rapidly as possible the creation of non-human “intelligence” and transhumanist immortality.
It is also a reminder we need as humans and followers of Jesus Christ that we humans know something about creatures killing their Creator. Although I don’t interpret that as the central theological meaning of Jesus’ death on the cross, it can be seen as a warning that AI has that same potential.
After reading this article from The Atlantic and becoming nearly despondent, reading Love’s Braided Dance by @nwirzba.bsky.social was just the antidote I needed. His focus on us as created beings and all that flows from it is foundational to who we are as humans. www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

No one has ever seen anything like it. I celebrated on Wisconsin Ave when the Brewers won the AL title in ‘82 but two years later became a Cubs fan when I left for college in Chicago. My Wisconsin family members are giving me a hard time now but I don’t mind; the Brewers have more than earned it.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act. The beginning of true democracy in America. A offering to this country paid for by the work, dedication and lives of ordinary Black people.

We’ve always had to fight. Are you prepared to fight to protect our rights?
Very sad news. He was only 65 years old. I watched him play in Wrigley from 1984 until he retired after the 1997 season. What a phenomenal player and, from what I hear, a tremendous human being.
With great sadness, we share that Ryne Sandberg has passed away today.
It can’t be said often enough that we all need to stand up for what is right and just, and not cower from taking a stronger stand because we are concerned about how doing so will affect our bank accounts or subject us to criticism. Integrity and truth are the point, not merely saving your own skin.
“After years watching Hungary suffocate under the weight of its democratic collapse, I came to understand that the real danger of a strongman isn’t his tactics; it’s how others, especially those with power, justify their acquiescence.” (gift article)

Trump said again today some countries “are just gonna have to pay tariffs.”

The news is reporting that Japan, and possibly Scotland, may have to pay a “baseline 15% tariff.”

COUNTRIES DON’T PAY TARIFFS. AMERICANS BUYING THE GOODS FROM THOSE COUNTRIES PAY THE TARIFF.

Anyone STILL not get that?

In 2016 this guy went to a law office with the goal of killing his wife’s lawyer. He hacked a woman to death with a machete and bludgeoned two other people to death (including a man he falsely thought was that lawyer), then set fire to the building to cover his tracks.

Anyway, Trump just freed him.

Spot on. It was shameful then and remains shameful now. The way that Democrats rallied around Bill Clinton for political purposes to shield him from his abuse of his position was just as bankrupt as whether are seeing now with Republicans’ attempts to shield Trump.
I woke up thinking about Bill Clinton and the Epstein birthday book (no surprises), and TBH we need to have a conversation about how there is a connective line between using girls and young women as disposable rape currency by powerful men, and using young women who work for you as sexual objects.

Not collecting the data doesn’t mean they don’t exist; it just means that we will be flying blind. The first thing you will know about inflation will be when it hits you with no warning, and with no way for the government to control it. Strap in, these idiots are going to take us for a wild ride.
