Whatever you think of the White House as a building or a symbol, the fact is that the image of it being torn apart on a whim two days after 7 million people hit the streets against autocracy is going to make a HUGE amount of people really, really angry, and that's an energy that should be harnessed.

The most upsetting part of No Country for Old Men to me is when Tommy Lee Jones monologues and his eyes are looking somewhere else and quickly move back and forth. Looks exactly like how my grandad used to look when telling a story and searching for a memory he couldn’t find. What a film.

I wanna make another case for trains… I’d booked a train out of SD at noon so I wouldn’t feel rushed, that turned out to be too late to be leaving, so I went on the Amtrak app and… booked an earlier train. It was so easy. I got it done in 30 seconds. And now I’m on the train home.

learned recently that the guy who wrote "The Night Before Christmas," clement clarke moore, also wrote a takedown of thomas jefferson's proto-scientific racism in "Notes on the State of Virginia," basically accusing him and others of making it up to justify slavery. which, that's right.
