I grew up conservative and my dad -regularly- said things like black people weren’t the same as us and trotted out that debunked study about brain size. They are all like that in private and always have been.

This media tour the cabinet has been on makes me think they really are hiding stuff from Trump. He’s good at saying a simple dumb thing and getting it to resonate with the base and they just can’t get the messaging to land.
