Doug Ford’s new omnibus bill hides a major gift to corporate lobbyists: a ban on turning car lanes into bike lanes.

@desaima.bsky.social notes that the move mirrors demands from the Toronto Region Board of Trade. It won’t fix traffic—but it will keep oil companies and Uber happy.

Reminder that Amtrak is going to be running zero year old trains into Canada multiple times a day as VIA Rail keeps subjecting us to twice weekly trains made of cars built SEVENTY YEARS AGO.
We passed our first tests with flying colors!
The first new Amtrak Cascades train is set to depart the test track in Pueblo, CO following several months of testing. Next, it heads out for more testing on the east coast before starting service in the PNW in 2026. This is the 1st of 7 new trainsets.

Lindsay Shepherd landed on her feet after being fired from the BC Conservatives for residential school denialism. The Frontier Centre for Public Policy just announced she's their new director of communications.
This is not good news. Performing a modicum of research into this topic – and then adding it to the article to provide appropriate context – would've been an effective journalistic practice, instead of merely parroting back the Westshore RCMP press release
