Sonic Rush came out 20 years ago today.
Meaning it's been 20 years of Blaze the Cat.
Still one of my favs they ever introduced into the franchise and it's kind of crazy she's now been around for that long.
I hope we can play as her in a platformer again sooner than later.

I think what bugs me more about the discourse on Prime 4 is the reaction to the desert hub being seen as some "open world slop" addition. Like no...I can almost guarantee that it's gonna basically just be like Hyrule Field or the Lake O' Nine. Just a basic sidequest hub area between the main areas.

Really good example of trying to foster AI doomerism in the comments I was describing. Even IF all of that is true (it's not, but sure), I can't stand the attitude of, well, since you *must* use X that's ethically compromised, you might as well just give up on everything! Just begging for a pass

One promising thing I realized about Prime 4 having living GF troopers playing a major role this time is that its probably gonna do a lot to help flesh out Sylux as a villain. The squad you get is probably gonna shine a huge light on what Sylux’s deal with the GF actually is.

To be honest, I've been waiting for Metroid to actually start introducing actual supporting characters that have dynamic interactions on both a gameplay and story front. It's a big reason why I really enjoyed Zexion.

Metroid Prime 4 will probably be fine, maybe a bit better than Prime 3 due to not being like a quarter tech demo for the Nintendo Wii.

It's funny, I may be more excited for Prime 4 after chiming in with my own thoughts and seeing everyone else's.
This is something different & perhaps Myles isn't there the entire time. Maybe the other Federation troops will be genuinely compelling. I like Fusion, I like Prime 3. This will be fine.

Prime 4 looks fine. I’m not really worried about the companion stuff tbh. Its a little quippy sure but based on the previews, its probably just for specific segments not the whole thing. Seems like the natural next step from Prime 3.

Saw someone arguing about the AI voices situation and their point in defense of using AI was “there’s a new Max Payne remake coming out, the main voice actor died, how else are they supposed to give him a voice?”
It is absurd to me that this is even considered a “good point” from either side.

And this is what folks like Michael Caine etc are enabling, not just the fact that their voice print is being used by companies in place of human voice matches or just straight up new talent, they’re enabling the idiocy of “but it has to be exactly the same as I remember” as an argument.

Tested out Pikmin 4's new fierce mode on some enemies...yeah it might be real this time. Them bringing back the 60 pikmin limit for it is a little annoying though but nice to see enemies not fold like paper this time. Using Oatchi and Items correctly might be essential this time.
