it’s hateful to have to do so, but make sure to mention the blowback on tall cis women, GNC cis women, butch lesbians, and any cis woman who doesn’t look feminine enough for the toilet police. MPs will be more inclined to sympathise if they understand that this isn’t *just* a trans issue.

My only issue with that approach is that it positions as following behind public opinion rather than positively leading, though I understand why they'd wish to take the easy route in the face of inevitable outrage from the usual places. A party with a massive majority should have had nerve

The reality is not a simple in or out though per those polls. Prominent Brexiteers said it would be madness to exit the customs union/single market but we did; there are many steps that could be taken before fully joining that in of themselves would improve our outlook if Labour were inclined
