I still don't get why people pay attention to literary awards. The Nobel Prize for Literature. The Pulitzer Prize for fiction. The Man Booker Prize. Not one of these have ever honored a book with an illustrated cutaway that tells you what all the parts of a castle are.

In Baltimore, we have a Thai takeout place that closes down every year for 4-6 weeks while the owners go back to Thailand for vacation, and yet *the place does not go out of business*. That’s how beloved it is.
