"Migrants who came to the UK on skilled work visas in 2022-23 will make a net contribution of £47bn to the public finances over their lifetime, according to new estimates from the government’s Migration Advisory Committee."

Not surprising, but some observations (1/n)

That’s now 22 ex-Tory MPs in the Reform ranks.

The same names and faces that broke your public services - now under Nigel Farage’s umbrella.

4: First watch of The Wicker Man (2006). Actually not as bad as its reputation suggests. Full Nic Cage shows up eventually which always adds a point to a review. The only reason I watched it was for the iconic bees scene which the Prime version cut out so 5/10 👎🏻

…a “life limiting” condition qualifies if a clinician “would not be surprised if the person were to die within 12 months”.

A consultant needs to complete an SR1 form.

They don’t need to give specific life expectancy, just that the condition is progressive & life-limiting.

FYI for UK disabled people…

If you are in hospital for over 28 days, PIP usually stops until discharge.

But there are circumstances which mean some can still receive the benefit payments.

These include terminal illnesses or life limiting conditions.

Under DWP guidance…

3: First watch of Sinners. Week 29 (multiple roles). Sadly doesn’t live up to the hype. Overlong meandering set up, a weaker From Dusk Till Dawn segment and a ridiculous end sequence. Really disappointed. 6/10

How many times do we need to point this out?
By appeasing the far right, you do not weaken it. You strengthen it.
While weakening your own position.
There's a vast amount of academic research showing this.
But Labour will not listen.

Nigel Farage casually having out with a man who was banned from F1 racing for telling his driver to crash his car to fix the Singapore Grand Prix. He also used to fix card games for which he was jailed. He was once a fugitive in the Virgin Islands.

And he’s in Epstein’s little black book.

Donald Pleasence was an RAF tail gunner, flying 60 combat missions until his plane was shot down over France and taken prisoner. After the war, he became an established actor — but he was never a snob. If films like The Pumaman earned him an easy buck and long weekend in Rome, he was in.

I've loved Sigourney Weaver ever since one of my all-time favorite movies, ALIEN. Couldn't resist going all fanboy on her yesterday & asking for a photo. She told me she's now in the cast of The Mandalorian. Talk about bad timing: she's now in that galaxy far, far away, years after I checked out! 💔
