As real as it gets. Since 1978
Senatus delenda est!
Part of me thinks “yeah, primary every last one of these fuckers!!!”

And the other part of me thinks “eh, fuck it. We’re gonna need wholesale constitutional reform anyway. Just abolish the damn Senate.”

Yeah real rich to hear my Senator talking about "how the senate works" while my city is under siege and the goons almost teargassed my children before their Halloween parade.

You have to resign. Tonight.

This is such an embarrassing failure on your part. You and you alone. It was your job to hold the line to protect health care coverage, and you failed. Utterly. Miserably. You failed.

Democrats won a resounding victory less than a week ago, and you caved. Resign. Now.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

The correct answer to this is "because Republicans don't want to solve your problems. They literally want you to starve and go bankrupt so they can make billionaires even richer."
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Not that he didn’t already know, but now Trump knows for sure he can roll the Dems every time and there’s no need to negotiate for anything

These are traitors to the American Republic. They cannot be tolerated.
The final tally to advance the CR is 62-38.

The Democrats who voted for cloture, giving Donald Trump everything he wants:

Cortez Masto (NV)
Durbin (IL)
Fetterman (PA)
Gillibrand (NY)
Hassan (NH)
Peters (MI)
Schatz (HI)
Schumer (NY)
Shaheen (NH)

Any deal that counts on GOP being good faith partners in governance misunderstands the modern Republican Party. Idiotic and out of touch!

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

I walked dozens of precincts and talked to thousands of Nevadans to reelect Sen. Rosen last fall. If she surrenders now I will do everything I can to defeat her in the primary in 2030.
Hundreds of millions of dollars have been - and will be - spent on those two Nevada seats alone
🚨The second #SchumerSurrender is now pretty much complete.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
November 10, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Tim Kaine winning this year's Lieberman Award!
Like, Tim Kaine, who represents the people most affected by the government shutdown just had those voters blow the GOP out of the water in VA
I think what is most flabbergasting about all of this is voters just overwhelming gave the Democratic Party a perfectly clear signal that they will be heavily rewarded for fighting.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Shutdown is very uncomplicated. Trump & Republicans will starve 42 million Americans unless Democrats agree to kick 20+ million Americans off of any healthcare insurance. Kicker is that Republicans intend to do both, regardless of what Democrats choose to do at this particular hostage situation.

It's difficult to describe how unreal Thursday morning was. I woke up early, helped to clean pepper spray off a pastor, scrounged cold packs for a man whose foot was run over by a CBP vehicle, and made it home in time to drive my kids to school.
