tumblr just brought this to my attention (i have discovered the queer leftist catholic corner of tumblr and it is a delight), and i want to make sure @clairewillett.bsky.social knows about it too:
The Madonna di Montevergine, mother of LGBTQ Catholics
For queer Catholics, this icon of Mary is a reminder that her loving care and protection extends to all her children.

Thread on how to detect ai in that viral dog video
Yeah, I mean, I'm critical of any video nowadays that is trying to elicit an emotional response, especially when it's asking for subs at the end. It's weird that all the people seem to end up with the dog they want. And shelters are overflowing, where are the rooms full of people wanting to adopt?

This is aspirational for me
I'm super stressed right now so here's a recent favourite landscape from a few months ago again - Dunvegan in Alberta, Canada. This aerial embroidery took forever but was worth it 💚 the higher up perspective is more intricate and slower to sew I've found, more fiddly! #art

Finally, those differences we DO have, those moments of misunderstanding are so easily talked through.

We as queer people need to talk to each other, across the generations. Let's stop allowing cis het incendiary media divide us and exploit our differences, and talk for us.

After much research and development I have made an offline version of ChatGPT.

Now you can save water and electricity while navel-gazing, and carry one of the world's most powerfully annoying AI chatbots in your pocket.

Gotta say it again

DOOMERISM IS THE IDEOLOGY OF THE LAZY

If "nothing can be done" then you're off the hook for doing anything.
Zero tolerance for doomerism. Stop lazily accepting that everything is screwed forever. Stop normalising low expectations. That’s part of the problem & it’s what the bastards want. It’s also a product of privilege. People in more desperate situations don’t have the option to just sit back & shrug.

As some of you are aware, part of Dragon Age day was to thank the DA Devs for all the hard work they put into the series we love so much.

This is also the first DA Day where we have no DA team, as they were laid off earlier this year.

So let's make an effort to support their new projects!🧵

Life is hard. Watch a baby elephant taking a mud bath.
The moment Kaikai grew strong enough to walk great distances, our little sprite discovered her non-negotiable: daily mud baths. Weather forecasts mean nothing. Keeper schedules are merely suggestions. When Kaikai decides it's mud time, it's mud time! swt.bio/kaikai

If you have a music/art fan in your fam, I created these pieces on my mum’s old musical scores and librettos. And am selling prints (hand embellished with gold ink) on prestige stock.

Here is a thread of the available art prints

These musical librettos/Scores were gathering dust after mum died. During lockdown I started to give them new life. I try to marry up aspects of the music with the subject. This Flamingo is drawn on “Bird of Beauty” from Pink Champagne 🪶

I never really questioned the existence of a Santa Claus parade (I never cared enough) but it being Santa travelling to the store to sit for the rest of the month does make sense.
On this day in 1904, Santa Claus walked from Union Station to Eaton's in Toronto. This was the beginning of the Santa Claus Parade. The first official Toronto Santa Claus Parade happened the following year with one float.
It is now the oldest Santa Claus Parade in the world.
