I thought Tehan's sudden switch to 'nuclear as firming' on 7.30 sounded strange.

Parramatta Road is a sewer for cars: Here’s how to change it
This long-neglected thoroughfare is a “stroad”. It doesn’t know whether it is a street or a road. The fixes are simple but require political will.

You can be a “car guy” and not like car dependency. You can be a “car guy” and get that too many cars in cities is bad for everyone, including drivers. You can be a “car guy” and be tired of lies & manipulations like “the war on cars.” You can be a “car guy” and know more choice means more freedom.

‘Not the right place for it’ they say. The pub’s been there for 150 years!

The Paddington pub, the $50k ‘parklet’ and the neighbourhood planning row
A 150-year-old pub has sparked a planning row with neighbours with fears a new outdoor dining “parklet” will lead to rowdy crowd behaviour and mental health impacts on surrounding residents.

The rush to target people's livelihoods after Kirk's murder is actually most in keeping with the spirit of Kirk.

He devoted his life to destroying the lives of others purely because they didn't sign up to his white supremacist, hate-filled view of the world.

He is not worth lionising at all.

Saw someone note that if Tyler Robinson had killed anyone else on the Utah campus (even if it had been multiple people) Kirk and his supporters would not have given one damn about them.

We know this because not one of them gives a damn about the school shooting that happened the same day.

Inner West Council in Sydney is proposing to do just this as their “compromise” with the state government’s TOD. Condemning apartment dwellers — overwhelmingly renters — to live on a highway, nowhere near trains or trams, breathing in fumes and dodging cars, just so quiet side streets stay the same.

Revitalisation will take a lot more than placing a number of 20-storey residential buildings along an established traffic sewer.
📢 The NSW Premier has announced the latest in a long line of plans to revitalised a tired stretch of Sydney into a much needed housing mecca.

The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.

Charlie Kirk did not deserve to be murdered, because noone deserves to murdered. Political violence is not something to be tolerated, not even against Charlie Kirk. And it is in holding and defending those beliefs that we make ourselves unlike Charlie Kirk.
