shout out to reqwest, but consider disabling the default feature "system-proxy". in my test suite my tests were taking upwards of 1s when making requests against a wiremock server.
after a lot of tweaking, i found that removing the system-proxy feature brought the test run time from 1s -> 20ms.

maybe i don't understand the context here. but who could possibly be celebrating the existence of a 50 year mortgage unless they also celebrated this country's wealth chasm.

Here's another bit of conventional wisdom Zohran completely blew away: His speech was at well above a 10th-grade level. It was complex, erudite, punctuated by deep and fluent references. You don't have to condescend to voters with baby talk! Part of re-establishing norms is speaking like an adult.

For the last two covid shots, I've taken a Claritin right after the shot, and the difference in the intensity and the duration of the symptoms has been remarkable. I wasn't sure until after the second time doing this that it was a placebo. It still might be but probably not!
i got my flu and covid vaccines about four hours ago and i can already tell that tomorrow's gonna suck. love that it is working.

found the dang std::thread::sleep that was hitching up my app that i recently converted (but apparently missed this) to async rust.
i wish there were a better way to detect this. i did spin up tokio console hoping to see stalled polls but it was infrequent enough that maybe it didn't register..

my roborock vacuum wasn't working great, so i emptied the dustbin for the first time in three months. i also turned it over and there were cat toys in the rollers, preventing them from moving at all 😂
totally understandable but it would have been cool for the robot to tell me things were sideways.

spent about 45 minutes tracking down why my app was logging 401 errors but the browser was not seeing the 401s.
I was using Option::or_else(my_401_macro!(...))? 🤦
So the macro which returns a 401 after emitting a tracing log was always getting evaulated b/c I wasn't using a closure.
