BANGERZ. This and their previous are titanic
Fest is such a blast (except for when I got my nose broken in the pit at Negative Approach)

Yes! And I'll add that professors also exist to motivate and inspire students. Articles like this assume that all college students are 100% self-motivated to do all the hard work required to learn. A professor's genuine passion for a subject is contagious in a way that a computer never can be.
If you think that professors exist as repositories of knowledge that students ask for answers, you’re missing the entire point of a college education.

We’re here to teach students how to do research, how to analyze and argue, how to think for themselves — how to find the answers on their own.
Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."
Death by snu snu for ol' Ben
Imagine choosing this poorly built polygonal hill to die on
The last Lebo protest was pretty sizable, so I'd expect the same this time, and they're staggered so folks could theoretically do both if they're mad enough
This probably ties in with my not-so-secret yearning for Big Pittsburgh aka municipal consolidations
Unironically this. There's an article to be written someday about how there are ≥2 of everything here because of regionalism and personal beef
No Kings organizers announced the Point State Park protest at 2 is moving to Allegheny Commons Park. Gotta say it's always struck me that Pittsburgh will run 2–3 separate protests at the same time. Very indicative of the region's mindset
INBOX: Multiple No Kings events planned for around Pittsburgh Saturday, including a large rally on Grant St. downtown and smaller ones near the PCA&M in Shadyside and in Mt. Lebanon. Downtown is 12:30, Lebo's is 2 p.m., Shadyside at 5.
(threateningly) Better pizza. Better ingredients
What if he was right all along...?
A very wet John Schnatter, Papa John's ex-CEO, says in viral interview that he ate more than 40 pizzas in 30 days and that the quality has been destroyed, addting that 'the day of reckoning will come'
Please do it. All too often, people think others will say what they're thinking, and then no one says anything.
Another student publication getting censored by admin. Antithetical to what college is for from where I sit.
UPDATE: Following the firing of the director of the student newspaper, Indiana University has now cut the print edition of the newspaper entirely.

Indiana University cuts IDS print entirely, hours after firing student media director
By IDS staff

IU previously directed the Indiana Daily Student to stop printing news coverage in our newspaper. Upon pushback, the university fully cut print, including our special editions. The IDS was not involved in the decision.

Media School Dean David Tolchinsky sent the order to IDS leadership in an email responding to its appeal that the school not censor the newspaper. And the dean attributed the decision to “the campus.” He has not yet responded to a message for clarification.

Kiran Desai’s Long-Awaited Return Is a Transcendent Triumph
Teeming with vivid characters across several continents, “The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny” traces a hesitant romance that challenges tradition and loss.

Damn you bsky—give us polls already. I really need to know people’s orange juice pulp preferences.
I found a different band to enjoy and stopped idolizing artists. P.S.: never get a band tattoo.
As a metalhead: where to even start?
People who idolized someone they later found out was a piece of trash, what happened?

Let me strongly emphasize that you should not give someone money for committing a gross breach of professional ethics. You also shouldn't hire them for a prestigious new job but our industry is garbage, alas!
