I have studied electromechanical control systems at the postgraduate level, I have built robots and taught robotics.

You could not pay me to be in the _same room_ as this goddamn thing when it's powered up. It needs to be anchored to the floor with steel railings enforcing a safety perimeter.
can't stop watching this clip of a tesla Optimus teleoperator taking his headset off before properly logging out the robot

Oh is it “make new moms feel inadequate“ o’clock again?

To hell with that judgmental bullshit. Moms, you’re doing great.

Cultural consultants are useful anytime you’re writing go about a culture you lack familiarity with. Even ones you don’t usually think of.

Someday someone will write a deeply investigative book about this industry 2024-2026 and it's going to be _wild_.

Not only does it all feel fishy as hell but.. literally there isn't the power to run them all. What the hell are we even doing here.
Two weeks ago I said that there were likely millions of uninstalled Blackwell GPUs sitting in warehouses as there is neither the data center capacity nor the power to turn them on. Michael Burry is looking into it and it looks like he’s got evidence I’m right.

SCOTUS (well 6 of them) acts like students who just finished their first philosophy class and think they know everything. They're hanging out, smoking weed, and spinning bizarre thought experiments (No boundaries, man!), knowing that their wild ravings will never concretely impact them.
this gets to the fundamental lawlessness. the difference between law as a game and law as a tool of government.

birthright citizenship is the law. nothing has changed. the documents are the same. if that can change based on *nothing*, you don't have a real constitution in the first place.
also, let’s say wurman is right. well, we have had nearly 160 years of unlimited birthright citizenship that has been affirmed again and again by generations of Americans. whatever the original intent, that is what the birthright clause *means*.

Y'all the latest episode of the #Kilauea #eruption just went CRAZY. It looks like pressure built up enough to explode out the ground around the two existing vents (first few seconds), leading to a massive surge in lava fountaining.🌋🤯

Me: Less judgmental about what things, Governor?

Newsom: Oh you know the things
California Governor Gavin Newsom said on Thursday that the Democratic Party needed to be “more culturally normal” and “less judgmental.”

I sometimes wonder why I don't play #TTRPGs enough, and then remember that 5/7 of my group are amateur community theater actors who have wildly varying evening rehearsal & performance schedules, the 6th is a member of local government who has evening meetings all the time, and the seventh is me.

Everyone: Yes we understand

Me: But maybe if I should louder and spread awareness somebody will do something to stop it

Everyone: What specifically have you observed in the past to give you hope that this might be the way it works?

the birthright clause was not just written to wipe dred scott off of the books, it was written to repudiate the *idea* behind dred scott, you might say the larger *ideological project* of dred scott. and the whole of section 1 of the 14th amendment is a constitutional statement of political equality

There's a video circulating around of an older man with an Italian accent standing behind a deli counter and reading the riot act to some ICE guys.

It's extremely satisfying, but I'm pretty sure it's AI. I'm really glad I thought to look more closely before I shared.
