starting Dec 1st! ie tomorrow!

for structure to eke out pages at a bonkers time of year (that is also a precious writing-est time):

you can do 250 words a day! books get written that way! if more, amazing! if not when grading or festive-ing, that's ok!

check in daily at #acadecawriteathon
is there a NaNoWriMo but for December and academic/ nonfiction? Should we start it?

The flip side is I have to cover all of my operating costs. This weekend I kicked off my year-end fundraiser:

The New Deal wasn’t built on a promise that there would be “no ceiling” for the richest Americans.

Quite the opposite, in fact. FDR knew its politics could only work if he singled out the rich as villains and knew that its policies could only work if the rich paid their fair share in taxes.

this is self-abuse.. why would we participate willingly in a system that jacks us of our money to make one person rich beyond comprehension??

@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social

if anyone has the courage at this precise moment to restructure this abhorrent system, it's you.

It’s not a mistake.

Most people in these professions are women.

It’s just another campaign in the GOP’s war on women.

And everyone will eventually suffer from the ramifications.

We will save you from a lifetime of college loan repayments—NOT by making education cheaper, but instead, by taking away the loan money so you can’t go in the first place. Sounds like perfect con logic. Putin pats his head and says, “what a good boy!!”

The intent is to collapse the United States. The economy, healthcare, education, institutions, everything.
We knew this before the election, but somehow it’s like most people don’t understand what’s happening.

From a nursing perspective, organisations (hospitals and other providers as well as insurers) will push the idea that nurses aren’t critical staff and thus lower costs by using less qualified and thereby cheaper staff. The problem is the evidence shows that fewer RNs leads to poorer outcomes.

BREAKING: The majority of executives and upper management are totally talentless hacks.
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

Hey everyone,

I hate asking again, but the movers we hired ripped my family off. Quoted us about $4k then extorted another almost $4k. I’m sick from overwork, will have to miss work to recover and we’re down a lot more than planned.

Anything helps.
