Aftyn Behn, Democratic nominee in the special election in Tennessee's 7th congressional district remains excited as votes are still being counted in a close election against Republican Matt Van Epps.

This winner is a loser!
Looks like Van Epps may only win by 5 points

Insane since Trump won by 22 just a year ago

States run our elections, not the federal government!
I willingly gave my info to CO. I do NOT consent to my information being given to the federal gvmt! They already have too much concentrated. Want to know how I vote? Democrat! Since I was 21 months old and flipped the lever for Mom's vote-JFK.

I used to think Republicans fell in line because they feared Trump would attack them in a primary election. Now, I realize it's much worse. They are physically afraid of Trump's supporters and the risk of violence.

Just in the last few mins more votes have come in, and total turnout in this special stands at 96% of the 2022 November election. With more votes coming in Nashville, it could EXCEED 2022.

The GOP can't explain this double digit swing away with their old excuses of low turnout.
The Dem (Behn) will fall short in the TN7 special, but what happened was a double digit margin swing from last year.

GOPs try to explain these special elections away by saying they are just low turnout and their voters will come out next November.

That's not true here...

As of 8:58 PM EST, NYT projects that TN-07 is less than R+6.

Obviously, we all are hoping against hope that Aftyn wins the election, but no matter what, even coming THIS close in a Trump+22 seat is a MASSIVE win for the anti-Trump resistance.

Welcome to the end of so-called “Safe GOP” seats

The answer is to fracture the Republican party, both at the national and state level. Only then can you start correcting all of this crap... that said, it does not mean the Democratic party takes over... they have their own crap ownership to fix.

In more practical terms, Nashville used to have the representation in Congress that a city of its size is meant to have under our constitutional system, and now it doesn’t.

TN07 is a story about gerrymandering: the GOP cracked Nashville into 3 districts when it redrew the 2022 map, destroying the Dem seat there.

Fast-forward: a section of Nashville, which just 5 years ago had a Dem representative, is now voting Dem by huge margins but it's been designed to not matter.

Just the fact that MSM is actually covering an election in a ruby-red state should make the DNC feel as good as the GOP feels terrified.

Literally NO WAY this should even be near competitive, i don't care how the GOP tries to spin it, Trump is killing the GOP and they are not helping themselves.

again @gelliottmorris.com says behn still has a chance but damn 3 points in this district is 🦇💩
