What am I even doing here?
Gorgeous day to run away from all the world’s woes. Riding the high of a PR to boot.

My “I am not a malformed creep who groomed a child for years and then abducted her to my secret dungeon, I’m just a misunderstood tragic romantic” playlist is raising a lot of questions already answered by my playlist.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

I would like to introduce you to a fun guessing game I’ve been playing.

Is it mental illness, the downfall of society, grief, perimenopause, or did I forget to take my meds?

Those of us who are SA survivors are used to the mass shrug in response to even the most overt evidence of horrific behavior. Epstein's crimes and the complicity of many influential figures involved have been known for decades (’05 to be exact). It's never mustered much interest or consequence.

40s but yup
Everytime I do something incredibly strange and socially awkward but I'm well into my 30s and refuse to do any more work on myself...

Still looking for some of these! We’ve said yes to a couple of pitches, but are looking for around 3-5 more for early next year.

We are primarily looking for historians of ancient, medieval, and non-Western figures.
Call for (post-PhD) historians and cultural scholars for the pod! We have a specific wishlist of scholarship we’re looking to add to the lineup:
- ancient & medieval history
and/or
- histories of anywhere other than the US and UK, preferably outside Europe

Pitches to: [email protected]

The only issue I have with @thisguysucked.com is that my TBR is growing exponentially because of it.

Did I have to look up the term “powerbroker” because I didn't realize it wasn’t referring to high volume stock traders? Sure did!

I hate the timeline that has me doing this. Can’t I just play in excel all day and run and craft in the evening?

Back in class and holy wowza business classes are cynical in a way that I am not.

Literally just took a note of “don’t let a good crisis go to waste”

While I’m sticking w the program, I just don’t know that my “soft science” heart can cut it in the business world.

It is so painful to watch Important government agencies undergo what I've been through in my personal life - the systematic undermining and hamstringing of an agency/person with the goal of “proving they can’t do the job” and sweeping in to replace them with someone/something else.
The right-wing extremists and ideologues in the United States that have long hated competent and effective government are succeeding in their plan to destroy competent and effective government in the United States.

If you destroy it, you can then milk another 50 years of pilfering public tax dollars via private contracts while simultaneously talking nonstop about how shitty the government is.

When SNAP benefits get partially or fully restored, please do not cancel any monetary or food donations you are making to local food banks. People are still going to need a lot of support.

Knifing people in the back after they have made sacrifices and supported your risk-taking is not actually superior to not waging a fight. Both of these things just suck.

Hard disagree here: "This accomplished a lot. It demonstrated that Democrats can go to the mat when the public is behind them and not pay a political price." No, it demonstrated that potential existed — and now people know their sacrifices mean nothing to these people and will be squandered.
