He has kept among us in times of peace Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution & unacknowledged by our laws.

I cannot emphasize enough that the playbook being used against mRNA vaccines (and vaccines in general) is IDENTICAL to the playbook used to restrict voting rights after the 2020 election: actively sow public distrust, then cite the distrust you sowed as an independent reason for your desired policy
Opinion | Jay Bhattacharya: Why the NIH is pivoting away from mRNA vaccines
As a vaccine for broad public use, mRNA technology has failed to earn the public’s trust.

So you’re telling me the Wizard of Oz presented itself as a towering force of overwhelming technology, only to be unmasked as just some guy, off-screen?
So apparently, it may turn out that The Wizard of Oz at the Las Vegas Sphere wasn’t entirely made in AI and Google threw the VFX crew under the bus by claiming it was all done by artificial intelligence.

If true, then fucking yikes.

Another crash and injury on Spruce St. This one taking out a streetlight, an Indego bike corral, and sending another person to the hospital.

Our city cannot prevent all reckless driving, but our city can provide for the safety of our most vulnerable. It’s time for concrete protection.

85% of Gaza is on the brink of death due to starvation. Israel could let aid in at any moment. And some people (like these men tried to do with me on Friday) are still trying to justify this atrocity.

There is no justification. This could stop at any moment. End the blockade now.

This is an executive order that lays the groundwork for sending homeless people and people with mental illness to concentration camps to be "civilly committed." It was never going to stop with immigrants.

This is horrifying beyond words.

Not a coincidence, especially since their role hasn't changed, but the perception has. Asking siri to explain something and asking grok to explain something is the same thing, except that siri is your assistant/secretary and grok is your professor.

It reminds me of a thing I read
now that i think of it, with claude, grok and chatgpt, they basically stopped making them woman-coded like siri as soon as they wanted them to act like topic based authorities

The New York Times is basing a story on data provided by an eugenicist. The story is written by Benjamin Ryan, a science denier and notorious transphobe.

When you think that the alleged "newspaper of record" can't fall lower when it comes to professional standards, it surprises you again.

I'm ready to lose my mind every time I have to research which insurance plan I have to opt into, I do not want to have to do a PhD thesis worth of work every time I have to make a grocery list.
I could be wrong about this but I really think most Americans do not want to be forced to “do their own research” about food & drug & product safety and would rather that the government agencies that have been sorting that all out for them for decades not be obliterated in the name of “efficiency.”

I was talking with friends this weekend about going to see Sinners and the one person in the group who had already seen it said we needed to keep him in the loop so he could go again.
Sinners dropping just 6% in its second weekend merits a much bigger headline than its $48 million opening. It is actual box-office news--news as in "This never happens." Just a giant thing, for Ryan Coogler and for the future of original material.
