Or—please hear me out, as I know this may come as a shock to everyone—J.D. Vance knows the truth and is a calculating, habitual liar who will say absolutely, positively anything he thinks is politically expedient?
That just makes pants sound even dumber then if he hasn't taken the time to learn about his wifes faith
This is so messed up for so many reasons. If Dems ever regain power, they MUST set up guardrails against this kind of thing (and so many other things this administration is doing). 😡

FBI official connected to Trump 2020 election investigation being pushed out, sources say
The 22-year veteran was recently named in documents related to investigation that has angered the president.

Shame on her for standing by silently like a good little wifey, letting him spew the shit he does. 😡
“Domestic Civil Disturbance Quick Reaction Force" + replacing ICE officers with the more aggressive (and bigger asshole) CBP officers + talk of the Insurrection Act + political appointees living on military bases = WTF is about to go down, America?? 😡
(Don't hand them any excuse to go off on us!!)
YESSSSS! Listen to your master and do it, republicans!! 🙏
Trump: “…BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THE DEMOCRATS HAVE GONE STONE COLD “CRAZY,” THE CHOICE IS CLEAR — INITIATE THE “NUCLEAR OPTION,” GET RID OF THE FILIBUSTER AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
"With the royal title gone, from here on out, the prince will be known merely as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. Of course, to many, he'll always be known as The Pervert Formerly Known as Prince."
(Stephen Colbert for the win! 😂)
And, really, my original comment was just explaining what Tim was saying about the OA regarding war and medicare (that, regardless of what he's doing now, he ran to the left of his party on those issues), not actually opining on what Tim was saying overall.
Yes and no. We need to take control of both chambers, and the only way we're getting the Senate is to win in red states we can't get w/o a candidate who will pander to the right on some issues. At this point, it's about the "D," not how they vote or what their reputation becomes for flip-flopping.

Just when I think Pete Hegseth is the worst person in the Trump administration, Kristi Noem says something, and I change my mind, then Pam Bondi says something, then JD Vance says something, then Stephen Miller says something, but then Donald Trump says something. Contest over.
Ya... "for any other politician" is how *everything* goes with the orange asshole. It's beyond frustrating. [sigh]
(So it's certainly reasonable to say it wouldn't fly with a Dem the way it does for him.)

When we were deployed, some Afghans risked their lives to help us. Now Trump wants to send them out to be killed by the Taliban.

It’s a disgrace, a betrayal, and a decision that endangers future US troops.
Exclusive: The U.S. government asked a judge to deport a man to Afghanistan, where he expects the Taliban to kill him. Legal experts say the case could have consequences for Afghans the U.S. rescued and promised to support.
Trump administration makes misleading case in high-stakes asylum hearing
Homeland Security asked a judge to deport a man to Afghanistan, where he expects the Taliban to kill him. The case could affect thousands of asylum seekers.

I think the point isn't that he is actually bucking the party but that he *campaigned on* bucking the party on those issues. It's not about what they do once in power, it's about what they say to get themselves elected.
You'll hold him to it? Like all of the others have been held to account for the things they said (aka lies) in their confirmation hearings? (Not saying you won't try, but he's lying and you all have to know that and should not support... don't just claim he's going to be held to anything he says.)

If gutting humanitarian aid is David Barton’s dream, it tells you everything you need to know about his “Christian values.”

He might want to talk to someone about those dreams.
Christian nationalist pseudo-historian David Barton says that, on a scale of 1 to 10, he'd rank Trump's presidency "about a 435" and brags that after he was invited to brief the State Department on this history of foreign aid, they gutted USAID: "This might have happened in my dreams."

Trump just ordered the Pentagon to resume nuclear weapons testing, a move that could reignite a dangerous global arms race.

He's also furloughed nearly all federal workers responsible for overseeing and safeguarding America's nuclear stockpile.

Hello?

This is in WV, but it’s happening everywhere. This is exactly what the Dems are taking a stand on to prevent.

An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

Remember during oral argument on the presidential immunity case when conservative justices scoffed at and mocked the hypothetical that a president with immunity could just start killing whoever he wanted and there was nothing that could be done if he has immunity?

They tear-gassed kids last week.
FOX: Pritzker has asked you specifically to pause immigration enforcement operations in Chicago so kids can safety celebrate Halloween. Do you have any plans to alter activity tomorrow?

NOEM: No. We're gonna be out on the streets in full force and increase our activities to make sure kids are safe.

Millions will go hungry because Trump and Republicans won't use available funds to keep SNAP running during the shutdown.

And they won't end the shutdown because they refuse to extend ACA subsidies that will keep insurance premiums from doubling for millions.

Policy choices.

No one has “kicked God out of the public square.”

Every American is free to worship — or not — as they choose.

What officials can’t do is use their public office to impose their faith.

Stop conflating government neutrality with persecution.

It still boggles my mind that so many people couldn't grasp last year how significantly more morally depraved a second Trump term would be in comparison to the first. And how so many people still can't comprehend that our national crisis isn't about politics, but simple morality.
