Whether this girl was a citizen, a legal resident, or undocumented is irrelevant.

Whether she was perfectly law abiding or accused of a crime is irrelevant.

A grown man kneeling on the neck of a 15 year old girl (one who also wasn’t resisting) is beyond the pale-an act indefensible under any circumstance.

Anyone who hasn’t lost their humanity knows this.

These are not emergency vehicles covered by Scott’s Law (Illinois Vehicle Code. 625 ILCS 5/11- 907(c)). And even if they were, these are not Illinois peace officers authorized to enforce that law. And even if they were, it’s a $250 traffic infraction, not a jailable offense. IOW, they can fuck off.

I’m reminded of the old maxim “Cs get degrees”. Seems like we’re experiencing a revival of that old sentiment, testing the limits of minimum acceptable performance, like banks cramming just enough sub-primes into securities to keep their rating and price.

Yeah. They were counting on fleet conversions that have been slowed down due to reduced pressure for emissions reduction, not to mention the sticker shock for the up-front capital from hhds. The lifetime TCO is lower and the Lightning is far superior but folks have trouble with the cash.

RFK fired the CDC official (w/decades of experience) leading the measles outbreak response. It's been decades since we've had such a large outbreak. And just to ensure they they can spread the measles outbreak even farther, they also fired the leadership for the center focused on immunization.

The editors of the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) were apparently fired today.

The precursor to MMWR began in 1878 to address emerging public health threats rapidly.

We are not “great” without it. We are vulnerable to threats from sporadic foodborne illness to bioterrorism.
