Now that Tesla investors approved an obscene $1T reward for Musk, will 🇨🇦 pension funds finally divest?
BCI + BC Public Sector Pension Plans have ~$213.45M in Tesla (as of March 31). Unclear how BCI voted at AGM, but ongoing investment, with OUR pension $$, in this noxious firm = complicity. 17/x

Gross. And dangerous for our society. Time to ban Xitter.
If we are serious about preserving Canada’s democracy and sovereignty, Canadian institutions need to stop tolerating the intolerant! 👇 Amongst other things, that means blocking X, Rebel and others making $$ from purposefully purveying disinformation and division.
Karl Popper’s sage advice for democracies - don’t tolerate the intolerant!
“If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.”

FYI - Tesla shareholders include BCI + BC Public Sector Pension Plans, to the tune of ~$213.45M (as of March 31, 2025).
Not sure how BCI voted at this AGM, but their ongoing investment - with OUR pension $$ - in this noxious firm = complicity. Other big pension funds have already divested! 👇
We call on BCI + BC Public Sector Pension Plans to drop their ~$81.54M stake in Tesla. Far worse than Tesla’s litany of labour + safety issues, its CEO and 13% owner is a raging fascist threatening the US, Canada, and others. Pensions will be worthless if brownshirt billionaires kill democracy. 1/x

Jamil Jivani's record speaks for itself: calls to abolish social programs, targeting trans youth, attacking DEI, and wanting to axe the TFW program overnight. This isn't “Canada First,” it's complete lunacy.

Bowmanville—Oshawa North deserves better than fringe, PPC-style politics.

You mean Victoria could become an actual grown up city and serve the needs of it's people?
The very predictable and oft-heard answer — that people who can afford to fly are so rich that they don’t need transit — is outdated and irrelevant. Transit is good for everyone: it lowers traffic and reduces greenhouse gases, irrespective of who is using it.
Stop the presses!

Next week, the Victoria Regional Transit Commission will consider the option of creating a one-seat (direct) ride from downtown Victoria to YYJ and on to Swartz Bay. This would be achieved by altering the 72 line and re-routing it to YYJ.

Thoughts? Would you take the bus to YYJ?
