I develop adult video games on Steam. I can't find a bank that will actually let me withdraw my money from Steam. Can I get some advice?
Game has sold quite well on Steam. I've got almost £90,000 ready to withdraw after Steam's cut + VAT taken off.

However, it's been 2 months now and I can't find ANY bank in the UK who will let me withdraw my money from Steam.

I've been banned/refused/unable to get a business account with:

Wise
Revolut
Monzo
Monese
Chase
Starling
Nationwide
Halifax
Barclays
Lloyds
RBS

It always comes down to, "Where did you get this money from?"

"It's coming from games I sell on Steam."

"Can we see the store page?"

"Sure."

"I'm sorry, we can't do business with you at this time."

It keeps coming down to a commercial decision purely because I make adult content.

What the hell am I supposed to do? I've pretty much exhausted the whole banking system. I just want to be able to be paid for products I've sold.

My experience with JRPGs is fairly limited but even so, this is not a super-common thing.

I think it's something unique to a few very well-known JRPGs but it by no means represents the whole or even a majority sample.

So it's probably not so strange.

Might go about the series in Japanese this time, I've mostly just watched the dub with few exceptions.

I don't know why but I've been itching to rewatch Cowboy Bebop again.

I watched it to death on Adult Swim in my school years, and I always figured that was enough for one lifetime.

But I guess being 31 makes you look back on things with nostalgia. Might be worth a revisit.

One of my favorite routes. Going in, I had no idea what to expect from a death game involving this cast, but there is SO MUCH done to flesh out characters in unconventional ways, and it's satisfying as fuck.

Honestly, as someone who has been engaged with anime since a very young age, it's periodically exhausting to witness that this culture of elitism and blanket dismissal has been a thing since long before I got here.

Things are better than they used to be, but we still aren't where we should be-

-career at Toei Animation, characterizing it as "enduring work for hire" leading up to The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Or the Mazinger Z ANN review that likened enjoying it to Stockholm Syndrome.

Not to mention many dismissive and disrespectful entries in The Anime Encyclopedia.

Western anime/otaku journalism has always had a persistent "faux arthouse" mindset problem where anything below a certain perceived artistic threshold is subject to bad faith critique regardless of cultural merit.
