Maybe it’s just the Humanities professor in me, but let it be noted that events of today (ahem) have demonstrated the value of being able to assess a large volume of qualitative data and do careful textual analysis with deep attention to context.

As a resident of #Portland it is impossible to capture how unhinged this is. We are a low crime city and the ICE protest "siege" consists of one auxiliary ICE office that normally has at most a dozen weirdos debating what performance art they should use to block a single driveway

One of my favourite objects is this gorgeous frog purse made between 1650-1680. A gap below the face allows an opening with a drawstring, and the legs are formed with wire covered in padding. The body is silver-gilt thread, whilst the eyes are formed from black beads. Held at the Museum of London.

A man and his dog were hiking Fee Glacier when he fell into a 26-foot hole. A rescue team arrived but struggled to find their exact location until one of them spotted the tiny pup. He never left his owner's side. Thanks to the dog's loyalty, his human was saved and flown to a hospital. 14/10 for all
