Somehow I feel more alive
I'd like an AI bank account that hallucinates a really big balance after I tell it I'm rich.

It's not much more ridiculous than normal money if you think about it.

HBOMax has started showing a 'remastered' 4K Mad Men and they’ve messed things up so during Roger’s oyster vomit scene you can now see the crew men with the vomit hose on the right

WM_COMMAND shouldn't exist, and everything should be done through WM_NOTIFY.

Change my mind.

(There's no consistency in how it's used from one Windows control to another, so having both just means you have to look in more places in code and docs to find which one you need to use each time.)

It's ironic that the notification I wish I could turn off the most is the one asking me if I want to turn off notifications for other software that I'm intentionally using.

Just because I don't *click* a notification doesn't mean I didn't read it and find it useful, Microsoft, you dumb fucks.

It should be illegal to produce software for phones and not also make a version for PCs.

Just got a Eufy outdoor solar-powered camera and the hardware is great but the software is so fucked.

You can only really use a phone to view and control the camera. The web interface may as well not exist.

I wish this was an exaggeration, but it isn’t. They appear to have actively worked to block their purported allies being granted asylum, so they couldn’t be called to give evidence in Britain.
The British government and forces left their local translators and interpreters to be killed by the Taliban so they couldn't give evidence in any war-crimes trials

“This candidate hates country music!” is something you’d tell people to get them to vote for them, not against them.

Why does the Windows 11 SDK put two DLLs in the root of C:\?

And why has this been an issue for over 2 years without Microsoft fixing it?

They're supposed to go into the 32-bit System32, not cluttering up the root.

Utter incompetence.

Browsers should keep the API that allows web pages to reinterpret the scroll position and do something else instead that completely ignores how fast you've configured your mousewheel to scroll etc., but the moment anyone uses it a cruise missile should be launched to their location.

Playing Dead Space (2023), in the bit where the invincible hunter attacks you on the way through medical.

Mess up twice so I reload my save, and now the hunter won't spawn, three times in a row.

Search for info. Steam forums are in a miniscule font and block pinch to zoom.

Use back-tap to zoom...

the thing I keep thinking is that capitalism has created so many jobs that simply don’t actually need doing, with the rationale being that they employ labour and therefore are a public good, economically. so if commodities don’t need human labour anymore … what now?

If you don't see this until tomorrow, don't worry, tomorrow is also International Fuck Tim Sweeney Day, as is every day after it.

If AI is so revolutionary and empowering people's creativity, where the hell is all the cool stuff made using it? We should be flooded with it by now. Where is it? There's nothing. Jack shit. It's fucking worthless crap.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

Love that Smart TVs have evolved to the point that simply turning one on for the first time is a half hour process involving a fucked up phone app and nothing works the first time or happens at any reasonable speed.

I accidentally allowed another Android/Google device into the sanctity of my home.
