De-aging CGI cannot and will never work as well as putting your aged actor in a ridiculous wig.

Imo Stranger Things is just miserable to rewatch when you aren't being dragged along by the mystery anymore.

Bunch of nerds discover their D&D experience helps them solve 80s horror movies, cool, and now we cut to Samwise Gamgee being graphically devoured. On repeat.

We should return to tradition*

(*Before you are allowed to upload a YouTube video, you are required to hire an oil painter to paint their impression of what it is about based on a vague description for the thumbnail)

Why the fuck do we even have Black Friday? For like an entire month?

We don't even have the holiday it's supposed to be adjacent to.

Regular reminder if you've only seen the Battle Royale movie, the book actually explores the psychology of fascism & what a fascist post-WWII Japan would look like. In a sense it's the Eastasia companion to 1984.

The movie largely scrubbed those elements for a metaphor on generational divides.

Man, Koushun Takami lists the works that inspired *him* IN THE BOOK.
Quentin Tarantino bashes ‘The Hunger Games’ for “ripping off” ‘Battle Royale’ on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast:

“I do not understand how the Japanese writer didn’t sue Suzanne Collins for every f***ing thing she owns.”

Can anyone please make another big wizard franchise?

I'm so sick of everything aesthetically related to magic being Harry Potter merch.

I generally don't pirate recent stuff or from small creators, but so often what I want is something old that is

a) completely unavailable through legit means
b) "enhanced/remastered/collector's edition/god knows what" for a ridiculous price and the original artist(s) wouldn't even see a cent anyway
piracy discourse is so exhausting and passe, but i will observe that every truly great collector of physical media I know has a big harddrive of pirated books and movies. you literally cannot have one without the other

This headline is going around and the thing that is really bothering me is that buying a single item and then using it and NOT collecting more items is literally the opposite of hoarding.

The Blair Witch Project explaining the entire lore and what was really going on through a series of obscure PC games that haven't been in print since the early 2000s (except BloodRayne, which was canon).
After "film trilogy that dropped a critical plot point exclusively via timed Fortnite event" and "video game series whose story only makes sense if you're aware of the events of a canon pachinko machine", I feel like there are whole frontiers of user-hostile narrative design waiting to be explored.

As it turns out Persona (and perhaps Shin Megami Tensei itself) lines up with a whole bunch of my interests so I'm about to make it my entire personality.

I just started Persona 4 Golden and I have two questions

1) Does it just have a slow beginning or is the entire game like this?
2) When do I get to rizz up Naoto?

After he just made shit up about Castlevania 64 I started using AVGN episodes as a recommended list.

So often those games are "shitty" for no other reason than deviating from the Super Mario or Zelda template, and yet everyone parrots his opinions.
My even more unpopular opinion is unless you have personally experienced the thing, you should probably refrain from having an opinion on it.

We need to return to shaming people for parroting YouTube/TikTok with stuff like "When I want your opinion, I'll just find the YouTuber who gave it to you."
