Y'all, I just want to get my medicine to stave off kidney failure; I do not want to call 100 different people to figure it out.

Thank you, @kaine.senate.gov, for backing @bethmacy.bsky.social. You know her warmth, her integrity and trust her pledge to truly represent Virginia!
Major endorsement for Beth Macy in VA06 - by Sen. @kaine.senate.gov. For a bunch of reasons - name ID, money, endorsements - Macy appears to be the favorite for the VA06 Democratic nomination at this point. bluevirginia.us/2025/12/vide...

This is a corker of a series, what I'd expect from ProPublica. But the double-delight is listening to the podcast version and hearing the voice of the great David Strathairn.
Why ARE we spending so much more on health care yet getting sicker?

The infant botulism outbreak is an example of what public health does everyday to save lives--to identify the source and put an end to it.

Public trust is not a renewable resource. Our health agencies must be unwavering in their commitment to evidence, transparency, and integrity. Anything less jeopardizes the public’s ability to make informed decisions and ultimately puts more people at risk.
As public health citizens, we rely on agencies like the CDC for science-based guidance. But last night’s change to its “Vaccines & Autism” page - now hinting at a possible vaccine link - deeply undermines that trust. When credible institutions shift in ways that echo anti-vax rhetoric, we all lose.

If ACIP chooses to ignore evidence, when it comes to vaccines, parents and clinicians must ignore ACIP and look to those who continue to offer data-based guidance, especially our medical societies.

In voting to eliminate the universal birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine, ACIP ignored decades of evidence confirming its strong safety profile and effectiveness. Its decision will result in more hepatitis B infections and more people with chronic liver disease.

WTF has happened to journalism?
A🧵
This is profoundly irresponsible by AGSulzberger’s NYT, @by-cjewett.bsky.social +eds.

The normalization, “view-from-nowhere”, “born-yesterday”, stenography, “both-sides”, irresponsible headline are disgraceful.
THE story is the CDC&FDA are being destroyed by antiscience & Americans will die.
