Pretty disgusted. My neighbours (tested covid+ yesterday) were just at #Nanaimo Home Depot renting a van. They’ll be going into someone’s #Parksville home later to get a sofa. Betting they won’t tell the sellers nor wear a mask. They won’t ever be allowed inside my home again. I can’t trust them.

Aw crap. Extensive forest fire smoke which rolled into Parksville last night and rolled back out just before noon today is rolling back in, even as it starts to rain. How hard does it have to rain to cut through the stench? Bring on the deluge!

@earthox.bsky.social The rain can’t come soon enough. I can’t believe how quickly the smoke came in last night. Local purple air monitor says it has dropped by about 20% since 6 am but frankly it’s like standing next to a burn pile instead of in a burn pile. Hope you are able to stay inside.

Put in an offer on a mobile home recently whose home inspection proved that not only was this pig heavily lipsticked, but wearing full body makeup, a sparkly dress & imitation Jimmy Choo shoes. I wouldn’t take possession of it if they paid me to take it off their hands.

Just had a Zoom meeting with my older sister, who was adopted out when my mother was 17. She’s 71 now but I swear our talk (our FIRST talk) was just as though we’d always known each other. She & hers are truly our family!

Most amazing call this morning from an older half-sister that was given away or adoption in 1954. Our family has suddenly grown exponentially. My mother is over the moon - grandkids! And great grandkids! We have been looking for each other for about 20 years. Such joy in our house!

Must have been about 50 people in line waiting to vote at our polling station at 7 am this morning. This will be one LONG day for poll workers. We thanked them profusely when we early voted.

Damn. Seems the latch button on our well-used toaster oven has finally died, holding our chicken legs hostage. Thinking I’ll have to pry the damn thing open or just send the legs to the recycling centre with the oven.

My mother has deemed me certifiable after I ordered a giant pile of rocks to landscape our yard. Seems I have no idea how much 6 yards of river rocks is (way more than I need, it seems). Thank goodness my next door neighbours allowed me to dump them on their front lawn for now. Hope they’re patient.

Seems we have a spirit hanging around the house. It used to annoy Lizzie the dog for a few weeks but now has started knocking on bedroom doors at about 4 am to piss off the humans. Not impressed with its sense of haha. Time to do a house cleanse & get it to leave.

Our local credit union is down to 3 staff members today, a manager and 2 tellers. Everyone else is sick. Don’t try to tell me that everything is fine.

I really hate spring’s daylight saving time change. To make it less traumatic for me, I’ve been getting up earlier and earlier for the last 2 weeks. Found myself up at 5 am this morning. So effing bleary even coffee doesn’t help. Please end this madness, powers that be.
