I keep hearing about, and getting, fake disaster videos. Not sure who’s sick enough to spend time doing that, but if you want legit updates, check out the reels at JamaicaObserver on IG.
FIFA = famous for corruption
We did, for our 6 lb chihuahua.
He loved it, but wouldn’t leave our bed until after I put worn pajamas in it.

After a devastating landfall in Jamaica, Major Hurricane #Melissa has emerged north of the island. In a few hours it will strike again, this time in southern Cuba.
Definition of second wind - blowing intensely from the opposite direction now.
Most schools in rural areas are used as shelters - that would be doubly bad.
Seeing too many photos and videos of extreme storm surges, flooded streets, and fierce wind taking off whole roofs - in tact - from hospitals and schools.

And, she’s off.
Lo siento, Cuba 😞
They actually… apologized

Is this a joke?
At 4:06PM ET on 10/28/25?
Those were Jamaican curse words, so… cover your ears.
Based on the photos, videos and phone calls I’ve gotten in the past 48 hours, climate change has completely f—ked up my home country of Jamaica, and the major aid resources we’ve been depending on for decades are diminished, defunded or dismantled.

He can go [redacted redacted redacted].
The rush of the storm surges are daunting to think of, 13 feet??? in Treasure Beach? even 4 feet in Ochi.

Melissa made landfall in Jamaica as a cat 5 with wind speeds around *185 mph*, I think only the second recorded storm to ever do that. That's as strong as an F4 tornado, only, you know, hurricane-sized.

NEW: Hurricane Melissa is now making landfall in Jamaica.

This is the terrifying sight at Treasure Beach on the island right now; somehow the camera still working.

I have never heard wind like it.
Thank you. It’s going to be rough coming back from this, but our family will survive.
Yep. Parotee, St. Elizabeth.
Hoping Floyd’s survives Melissa 🇯🇲 pelicanbarjamaica.com
