Especially if you're in a city like Portland or Chicago, where we've seen peaceful protestors getting tear gassed & manhandled lately.

It's the "know ex-military; get a drone and walkie talkies; track everyone's movements" where I'm like, "Nope, that's too much. You must have ulterior motives."

See, as I mentioned to someone else, I'm kinda somewhere in the middle here. The first part, taken alone, would seem like somewhat reasonable advice, along with the "don't RSVP to protests" from a few weeks ago. If you're more comfortable taking extra precautions to not be identified, that's on you.

If I've learned anything over the last 10 months on Bluesky (and Threads) it's that posting a little map captioned "Breaking: These States are IN; These States are OUT" is great engagement bait for angrily tagging your elected officials while knowing next to nothing about what "IN" means.
