Meta is deeply evil. I know there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism but if you hate AI and value your privacy, ditch their platforms.
This week on the pod, we're diving straight into Meta Ray-Bans. We'll get into:
- How some people are abusing the glasses to film massage workers
- A $60 mod that disables the privacy-protecting recording light in the smart glasses
- The difference between a phone and a pair of smart glasses

whenever I point out that propaganda works really well and is really effective, there's inevitably people who say "but there's more sources of news than ever online," as if it's easy peasy for barely educated Americans to dissect which source of info is being truthful in an ocean of bullshit
A large majority of U.S. adults now get news digitally, but nondigital news consumers are less likely to say they extremely often or often encounter inaccurate news.

Many Americans say they often come across inaccurate news – and have a hard time knowing what’s true
Those who report often encountering inaccurate news are more likely than those who rarely or never do to say it’s hard to know what is true (59% vs. 31%).

Premier Smith introduced a bill to strip Albertans of Charter rights,
denied MLAs the opportunity to debate it and the courts the ability to scrutinize it,
and did all of this from her seat on a jet to Saudi Arabia.

The UCP government has invoked time allocation and on a bill removing Albertans' Charter rights.
And they're using the notwithstanding clause to do it.
Here's why that is a dangerous precedent. And why real conservatives need to stand up against it.

I’m less concerned about part of the White House being torn down, and more concerned about the fact that it’s being replaced with a $250m privately funded ballroom. I don’t think people who intend to leave office in 3 years typically spend a quarter of a billon on a 4 year construction project.

Auspicious start for the new CBS News, laundering unattributed cop shit-talking through the incoming editor-in-chief’s blog and failing to correct a misspelling of the story subject’s name in the web headline for three days.
