Stokes and McCullum have stuck by their team and made the wrong call. Will they pay the price? #theashes 🏏 Is Rob Key also at risk?

That feeling of waking up during the night and checking the score to see the disappointment. And then seeing the score as the alarm goes off and realising that it's even worse by the end of play #theashes #EngvAus 🏏

Yea. But they won't will they? They have been a bit inconsistent with the ball and so will fail to cut into the tail, and then bat recklessly. I love to see good, honest cricket for two days, but.....🏏🏏
"If England can use the new ball to cut through the tail quickly on the second day and then bat deep into the third day, they will be a good position to win this match. They really couldn't wish for a better opportunity" | ✍️ @georgedobell.bsky.social

This is what true patriotism looks like!
A sad middle aged man, puffed up to look like Rod Stewart & an immigrant himself, eating ‘English’ grub in an Islamic country whilst slagging off the UK, Islam and migrants.

Like the suddenly terminated £31 BN ‘Prosperity Deal’, this is merely part of an active measures campaign to destabilise former staunch allies in Europe. The Americans are not our friends and we must treat intelligence agents etc from US embassies and domestic fifth-columnists as malign forces.

England fans could expect to pay £5,000+ for world cup match tickets.

Add to this profiteering by airlines, hotels, taxi firms, restaurants.

Also need to hand vast amount of personal data to US govt. No guarantee you will be allowed to enter the US.

Why bother. Stay at home. Support local economy

I can’t help thinking that when, in future, people ask what UK political leaders said as it became undeniable that US saw European liberal democracy as its no1 strategic foe, Starmer and others will regret that the answer is “not much, shuffled awkwardly, looked at their feet”.

Some bits of this oped by @dannythefink.bsky.social I disagree with, but the thrust of it - that the US has decided to end the Pax Americana, & Europe is going to have to spend a lot more to defend itself - is right. For the UK, there's no more Special Relationship www.thetimes.com/comment/colu...

I hope someone in government is reading it, but I suspect they will continue to believe tRump doesn't really mean it....
I recommend reading this, especially if you live in Europe and still think Trump’s America is on your side. It’s a disquieting, and even frightening, summary of a document that favours Russia over Europe.
And at just 29 pages long it’s also a ridiculously small document.

Following his interview which made it much more obvious of the future direction of the US, are you decoupling from the US? I'm choosing European alternatives for all of my technology. There are some great alternatives.

And the UK Government continues to buy US software and weapons....I'm sure that's wise....
This should be a wake up call to Keir Starmer. Trump is not a reliable ally.

Trump wants to weaken Europe and carve up Ukraine while cosying up to Putin. Britain and our allies in Europe must stand together against his threats and bullying.
