Because Starmer didn't wave a magic wand and make everything all right overnight, the hunt is on for someone else with a magic wand. I wish our bloody lawmakers would effing grow up.

Mister #Waitrose delivered my order. He was very complimentary about how the company treats their drivers, which is seriously good to hear. So many people work for uncaring companies only out to exploit staff to the nth degree.

Yes, it is absolutely necessary for me to ejaculate “Ooh, ah, eek” when I get up from a low chair. Only when I’m by myself, obvs. It would be embarrassing, otherwise. 🙄

I also rang the insurance brokers to inquire whether the big jump in premium for car insurance was due to my advanced age. And, yes, it is. So I'll suck it up and pay. What with that & an income tax bill, January looks like short commons. Maybe I'll have a win on the premium bonds. Habloodyha.

I took a print into the picture framers. As usual, the frame is more expensive than the artwork! But they do a beautiful job. Was severely tempted to buy a small seascape and managed to restrain myself. I have about 20 pictures waiting to be hung already.

I cannot get over how fabulous this wallpaper is. The pictures don’t do it justice, as there is much more dark, vivid, blue on the birds than in the photographs.

I bought an expensive Jacobi Jayne bird feeder, designed to deter magpies & squirrels. Which it does. Unfortunately, it also deters small birds, as the seeds I put in it get stuck and don't drop into the feeding tray. Don't buy Jacobi Jayne.

On top of the income tax bill, I need to renew my car insurance in the NY, and the premium has risen by £70.

I just managed to catch the recyclers to thank them and give them a Christmas box. They’re always cheerful and as I have an assisted collection, I think they’re worth it.

Dammit. I was going to cut some greenery this morning to finish off my Christmas decorations, and it’s pouring with rain again so everything will need drying off before I can use it. 🤬☔️☔️☔️
