Schismogenesis - when their construction of identity is based on an imagined specific enemy and you confound that construction by wearing a frog costume or playing the bagpipes on a unicycle - they are left in a state of cognitive dissonance - confused.

But, yeah, ICE has prepared itself for squadrons of Soros funded, black bloc wearing Antifa Special Forces and they get presented with Portlanders in Halloween costumes playing the obo. They have to reframe themselves against that and it is not affirming to their identity.

Thanks. I first came across the concept will reading about the Peloponesian War. Athens and Sparta had that kind of relationship. So did the USA/USSR during the Cold War.

The ICE fascists have come to their self-identities in schismogenesis with the phantom of Antifa. They created identity by differentiating themselves from an imagined but specific enemy. Without that enemy to legitimate their posturing, they realize they look like fools and thugs.
