If you're feeling bad about spending Thanksgiving alone, don't. One Thanksgiving I went to see Lincoln alone, and 30 minutes in a woman stood up, yelled "I'M BORED!" and left. It was the best thing that ever happened to me.

If you use the phrase "vulgar roast" at a roast youre gonna get absolutely fried by everyone else there that didnt need to consult the Pokédex for their roasts

I'm getting uncanny valley from the words "epic vulgar roast." This isn't something humans say.

Man's gonna be a trillionaire and his ultimate idea of fun is to tell jokes from "World's Funniest Insults and Putdowns!"
Everything about this might be the saddest thing I’ve ever seen

I had a similar experience in reverse when I watched the Golden Bachelor episode of Sunny. I didn't know he was a TV host. I'm sitting there like "No, I'm talking about former university of Florida quarterback Jesse Palmer."

Every aspect of American life right now feels like accommodating your rich insane boss. We never go home from it.
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."

the concept of a celebrity journalist is so bizarre in the sense that literally zero of my real life normal friends know who these people are

This dynamic will exist everywhere until the end of time (or capitalism), but what's offensive is how it shapes peoples' attitudes about local journalists. I've met people who sincerely believe that anyone who works in the news is rich and corrupt in this way. This should be working-class work.

The desire to be a celebrity journalist is so gross. It's a 1% thing; let the little people at the struggling daily papers cover the school boards and the city councils, our betters will do the important work of crossing every ethical line to write celebrity gossip (and most importantly get on TV)
