Started the Anthology binge and first episode down. I highly approve of the archive photos over the interviews as it makes John not being there less obvious. But it still had my favourite bit of Macca saying 'We cannot be seen with that song.' YAS!

24 years ago today George Harrison took another step towards moksha. Earlier this year I compiled a People’s Playlist of his music guided by scores of Bluesky responders. Each song here is somebody’s very favourite George-related track. Three hours, ’63-‘01. Enjoy.

For Strange Horizons, I've been working on a review of A Granite Silence, Nina Allan's fascinating examination of a historical crime as a network of jostling stories. The review went online yesterday: strangehorizons.com/wordpress/no...

This is the best Scottish ghost story written in the 21st century so far. I devoured the novel in one sitting. It had that rare ability: it made me forget that I’m a critic. I simply lost myself in its pages as a reader.

But at least I can punt the book at last! Preorder! Royalties going to other small presses!
