Wrote about my biggest childhood fear for @gnofhorror.com! Plus: the all-too-permeable barrier of the human body, the beautiful dawn of air fryers, the rudest thing I’ve done with a shoe, and why I don’t want to get in that hot tub with you.

Kristina Ten shares how a childhood burn incident fuels her fascination with water and bodily vulnerability. Get her book today!

I've decided that whilst critical success is lovely, I'd like to sell some books.

If you liked EXTREMOPHILE, recommend it to a pal! (If your pal is fucking COOL and not a narc)

Eco-terrorism biohacking body horror, smart shit with dumb characters. Your new favourite book

'A visceral, doesn't-give-a-damn biopunk thriller that treats the "punk" part of that subgenre not as mere window-dressing but as an antifascist shriek... vital and urgent SF that reaches places realist writing never could' ― @interzone.press

If you like cool shit get this 🕶️

Today marks five months since the release of THE INCANDESCENT. As we swing into the grimmest bit of the school year, spare a thought for the teachers you know, for whom a demon infestation would make very little noticeable difference to the dark tunnel that is the back half of the autumn term.

THE INCANDESCENT is a book about money and education and status symbols, about loving your career, about demons, about magic, about fantasy school - but most of all about how 'school' is always a kind of fantasy. Available now!

UK: uk.bookshop.org/p/books/unti...
THE INCANDESCENT by Emily Tesh, in US (black) and UK (pink) hardcover editions.

Art flashback to earlier this year where I painted this fun gal
Digital painting done in clip studio paint. A gothy looking woman with fungus growing out of her face a dress. The painting is done in tones of orange, eggplant and emerald.

Okay that just sounds unhinged 😅 I've also seen BG3 no companions playthrough, equally joyless ha

Meanwhile perfectly happy to be completely unhinged in the sims 💁‍♀️

2025 books I've enjoyed! Jackal by @iameeadams.bsky.social was so gripping and tense, was hooked right from the start and couldn't put it down as the dark and twisty tale unfolded. Complex, incisive, gut-wrenching, and chilling - highly recommend! ✨️🖤

One of these emails congratulated Dark Crescent for being a "transformative feminist work of non-fiction" - the man-eating mermaids, shapeless mind control blobs, and skinless half-half-horse-half-man are all real tales folks...👀💁‍♀️ linktr.ee/lyndseycroal

I'm apparently the author of a "transformative feminist work of non-fiction" (I write only dark/weird fiction) 😅

Pip is up north on his holidays, dropping him off this weekend as I'm here for work, then he'll be enjoying time with his labrador aunties for a few weeks (have a bunch of work travel things but will miss his daily mischief for a wee bit!) ✨️🐈
