Something has always bothered me about the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. The ego thing would be to call it the Gulf of the United States since he’s POTUS. Something clicked for me tonight realizing that he does signal his intentions though they might not be obvious. 1/

First question I have is will Musk, Bezos/Jassy, Zuckerberg, Pichai have to pony up if they want to keep their HB1 employees? And secondly, how is this even happening, where are the lawsuits?
Unbelievable - you literally wire money to some unspecified account. I assume this is so Trump can treat it as a slush fund he can deploy unconstrained by Congress (in violation of the Constitution).

Any transit nerds out there that could answer this question, who would a train that had its brakes activated need to be removed? It’s 2025, can the brakes be unactivated and the train go on it’s merry way? And don’t get me started on signal issues in 2025, but I understand that a little bit

💯 There seems to be a growing faction of these white men who were successful in the 00’s and were entitled enough to think they could coast on their initial success but more talented people surpassed them, not all of them white men. Hence the bitterness, see Greenwald and Tiabbi as other examples.
This is because Nate Silver has 300K subscribers on Substack and Heather Cox Richardson has 2.7M. Mediocre men CAN'T STAND successful women, and even blame them for their own failures. Pathetic.

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.

It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.
