So I am fascinated, recently, by perfumery. I don’t know if I’m getting ads now for smells on my streaming hockey porn for that or if it’s just Christmas but I forgot how much I fucking love perfume ads because they are so banana fuck. How do we show you a smell? With a CAR. And a LADY. Brilliant.

To be fair this 'kill them all' thing is just an honest mistake that happens when, instead of hiring an honourable career officer with an understanding of the law, a firm grasp of military strategy and a deep appreciation of the unfortunate and unavoidable moral weight of warfare, you hire a cunt.

So one thing that’s fascinating about Mrs. Dalloway to me is that there’s nothing hidden in it - it hops from head to head of all these people who know themselves terribly well, even though they have radically different perspectives. Nobody is fooling themselves, even the silly people.

I have a theory, something I said on the podcast: it's no accident that the rise of the stalker romance (I can't even believe I'm saying that) happened when white authors stopped writing cops. These are basically surveillance state romances. The illusion that *being watched* makes you safer.

OKAY SO the reason why Dijkstra suddenly loses his goddamned mind in the Reasons of State quest is that they cut a TON of Novigrad content INCLUDING my boy Iorveth with a major Scoia’tael faction and so then they had to wrap that shit up somehow which explains why the gang war plotlines all fizzle.

I put this book on displays ALL the time ever since I encountered it years ago when I was doing a reading challenge that had me find a book with female protagonists over 60 and I voluntarily excluded cosy mysteries and was shocked at how slim the pickings became.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
