Update: At 5:07pm, Tyler Pager has published this follow up. Don't love the "Jewish leaders denounce" framing--I imagine (and hope) that many people and groups denounced it as well--but credit to the Times for covering Trump's antisemitic slur. Better late than never.

How do you write an entire piece about the need to train more blue collar workers for factory jobs & fail to mention the role labor unions play in doing just that? Sure seems like a stunning oversight by @nytimes.com.

what’s the point of access journalism if you don’t use your access to do journalism
Not one reporter asked about the Executive Orders targeting Chris Krebs & Miles Taylor during today’s Cabinet press conference. Not one. A president using DOJ to punish those who spoke out? That’s banana republic territory. I waited. The question never came.
Why? Has the fear already taken hold?

White House officials appear to be withholding pool reporters' dispatches when the reports include information -- eg that a Netanyahu press conference was canceled, or that AP was barred -- that they don't like.

The Pool Filter
Some White House pool reports are no longer making it to the official distribution list, Status has learned—an unsettling development in the Trump administration's escalating war on the press.

If, for example, Trump says nobody is allowed to dance, on penalty of death, he has no legal power to make that declaration and no power to enforce it, but if everyone stops dancing it's as good as if he did. Reporting as though Trump has these powers helps give him those powers.
