Dang we hit 800 followers already? 'spose I should do a real intro post. Thanks for following. I'm not great at promoting my work but you can find my various comics at linktr.ee/bkguilfoy and I enjoy talking about comics, Star Trek, and various other nerdy pursuits.

I forgot he's supposed to be in that. Honestly once they said it was going to take place on earth again my interest dissipated

Nobody likes the guy, and he's not a bankable lead in any way.
bkguilfoy.bsky.social
And that's kinda the thing, right, like he didn't "lead" Suicide Squad or Blade Runner, he was a side character in both. Morbius and now Tron are not successful but are also *single entries*, so you can't even say he led those franchises even if he's the lead in those two movies

Oh all of it really (www.patreon.com/collection/1...)

But definitely this one
Single-page comic: A Klingon gives an anti-trans speech and is killed for this dishonor, as there are no TERFs in Sto-Vo-Kor. His body is unceremoniously pitched off a cliff.

"the end of Jared Leto's franchise-leading days"

Jared Leto has never led a franchise.
thespaceshipper.com
"Some at Disney were always concerned only die-hard fans would show up, which isn’t a Leto issue but an IP problem. They were right; 18- to 24-year-old males, the sweet spot, badly underindexed."

Since the announcement of Tron 3, I don't know who this movie is aimed at. Teens & young adults or...
“No One Asked for This Reboot”: ‘Tron’ May Mark End of Jared Leto’s Franchise-Leading Days
As 'Ares' disappoints, insiders question whether the self-styled boundary-pushing A-lister can still be counted on to carry a franchise vehicle to the bank.

I don't *mind* #4 but it's gonna be #1 if I can

More recently I have only heard it used to refer to young people who dye their hair, seen as an indicator of being liberal. Last year I heard a guy in a comic shop warning his kid about "the blue-haired Nazis that work at Starbucks."

Oscar-winning VFX legend Phil Tippett ('Star Wars,' 'Jurassic Park') mastered the blending of practical and digital effects when the latter technology was still new. At View Conference this week, he shared how his studio is now bringing AI into the mix.

Something that's really helped me get through this garbage month is putting time limits on various apps on my phone. Wish I'd done that ages ago

I hope I end up filling a couple boxes with this gorgeous series

I've received a ton of messages about this issue, so thank you so much to everyone who has helped spread the word.

And don't worry, #25 is not the end. I'm signed on to Conan the Barbarian until at least #50 (end of 2027), so there are many more adventures to come.

Champion of the people, #Zorro!

(Kind of had to re-ink this one after I was done because I realized the window rails shadow on Zorro wouldn’t work with a direct flame in front of him, so this is take 2!)

Starbucks Frappula (2015-2016): An iced blended drink with a Dracula theme. Made with mocha sauce on the bottom, white chocolate or vanilla sauce blended with milk and ice, all topped with either raspberry or strawberry puree and whipped cream. It saw releases in back-to-back Halloween seasons.
A faceless figure in a classic Dracula outfit holds a Starbucks cup. Their nails are painted a maroon color, and the cup is filled with layers of brown, white, and red substance, with a thick topping of whipped cream

The 9-1-1 universe features multiple city-wide disasters per season that are not only magically repaired by the time the next one hits, but are also just never mentioned again. It costs like $10 million an episode but also sometimes has an utterly incomprehensible lack of shot-to-shot continuity.

It's nuts how many times I've seen a commercial for what seems like a wild new high-concept TV series only for it to turn out to just be another episode of 911, a show that seems to exclusively be crazy event episodes.

Some good stories in here and some not so good stories. Wolverine as a kinda avenging drifter? Good. Wolverine vs the Vatican? Not so good.

I mean, it's worth noting that Rambo doesn't kill anyone in this movie. He pretty badly injures some folks and inadvertently causes one dude to fall out of a helicopter.
