For the "fuck you, human beings" crowd, we even experience looks, jokes, comments and discrimination for being masked on a daily basis. Thank you very much for your unsolicited advice, it is just that we are busy trying to exist with a mask in public without people making a circus of it
For the "everyone should mask" crowd: If you want to protect yourself, get vaccinated. If you want to add a layer of protection, wear a mask. If you fear getting infected despite those 2 precautions, avoid going where you believe the risk is elevated. Don't expect the world to take care of you.

please disabuse yourself from the propaganda that leftists glorify violence/seek to incite protests

- is rhetoric to fracture movement (good vs bad protestors)
- ignores state violence instigating (ppl getting attacked ≠ attacking!) & justifies harm
- overwrites practical analysis w/fearmongery
No mira vanos a ver. Soy el primero que dice que lo de las redes sociales es un poco exagerado, pero hay aberraciones en las que uno pues tiene que levantarse y decir ya basta. Vamos, que esto este en los móviles de los adolescentes no puede ser 😂

This is an international disaster. They targeted a disabled fishing boat in Colombian territorial waters and killed fishermen.

every smug internet communist tweet about showing up to a No Kings protest with an abolish ICE shirt to scare the libs is getting completely mogged by the real-life winemoms showing up with slogans like "ICE will melt in hell"
Like, you could write a super long study on how deplstforming works, actually, or you could just simply paste that as a screenshot and then do a mic drop
Acabo de leer el primer mensaje de tu hilo sin ningún contexto y probado de sueño y déjame decirte que ha sido una experiencia
I mean, you love to see these bozos stomping in here without the bare minimum due diligence done about how the blocks work

I haven't had the capacity to keep up with moderation lists for a bit, but this one is really obvious, so I'm stealing some energy from Future Me: a list for the extremely obvious wave of inauthentic accounts following today's newly-created US gov accounts

They joined Bluesky because they can’t live without your attention. They don’t want to govern, they don’t even really want to “win” in a conventional sense, they just want to play online all day owning libs and it drives them crazy when they lose access to your one wild and precious life.
The most honest thing that I ever read from them

If your protest privacy/security advice does not start with a discussion of threat models, it is probably not good advice.
There is an entire domino meme in which the first piece is Jesse Signal arriving to Bluesky and the last one are the Nazis starting to year down the place.

Last piece has fallen.
"I can't even make fun of these folks" is the single best piece of advertising for a place honestly
US government accounts are here and they are already harassing people.

Do not just mute them.
Block them.

It is crucial that you do this before posting about them. They are scanning the mentions and references. They will try to use your anger. Do not let them.

They quoted you. You may want to detatch them

US Government accounts have arrived on Bluesky.

Block on sight.

Protect your digital space.

Be aware that the DHS account in particular is known to quote dunk on regular people to encourage their followers to harass them.

The detach quote function will come in very handy here…

One of the less understood beauties of a transition to a renewable economy is: you cannot invade a country and steal its sunshine and its wind, and you will not need to. The uneven distribution of fossil fuel, esp. oil, has corroded geopolitics for more than a century....
Nobel Peace Prize recipient María Corina Machado appeared on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast.

She touted the oil reserves in Venezuela (the largest in the world) and vowed to privatize the oil industry to enable American corporations to exploit and profit from the country’s resources if she gains power.
There is also an HBO documentary about the Opus. As a Spanish person I would like to say about these news:

Holy.
Batman.
Guacamole.

It helps with my productivity. So did learning how to do a pivot table. The guy who invented pivot tables didn't think he created God, or steal billions of copyrighted materials, or keep coal plants online to run data centers.
There are basically only two positions in the debate about AI.
1. I’ve barely invested any time in learning how to use it effectively. AI sucks.
2. I’ve invested in learning how to use this tool. Holy cow, it’s transformational.

Position #1 has lower barriers to entry.

PSA to the world: Zorin OS and Linux Mint will work in any computer where Windows 10 works and they look and feel similar, except for using less resources, allowing more customization and not hurting your privacy

Nope. Nope. Nope.
Not cool.
Not here.
Not ever.

We will keep working with real translators and narrators (and artists and proofreaders and authors and...) without any of this "AI" bullshit.
The 2025 Frankfurt Book Fair heard that developments in AI audiobooks mean publishers will no longer have to decide whether to translate a book, but instead just choose which market to translate into 👇 #FBM25
AI audio means publishers ‘don’t have to choose whether to translate, only which market’, FBF hears
