Are you trying to check out #SteamNextFest demos but can't quite make it past all the AI crud? Overwhelmed by the sheer number of games of varying degrees of quality?

Well look no further! I'm going to be playing tons of demos this week and cataloguing the most standout ones in this thread:
So glad you had a good time, and that you went for 100%. Makes me super happy! And you did it so fast too!! Really impressive!
Yeah! Really happy with the code too!

I think I’ll be able to reuse the same system for picking up items. That together with winning pieces in matches with NPCs, and I think I’ve got all the systems I need for now.. 🤔
Implemented a system for collecting pieces just by talking to characters around town!
Always with the puns and dad jokes! 😆
I’m excited about both of these games! Interested to hear what you think

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.
Starting Stig now! @bergberggames.bsky.social
Starting now. Axe Ghost for a bit and then who knows what else. Maybe RoA2 or Devil Daggers, or a puzzler like Stig?

Ah, I see! That’s nice! Hope they’re cool with it 👍
Cool! Is it a devlog kind of thing, or what type of video are you making?

Finally took the time to setup a pre-push hook that runs all my GUT unit tests. Also added tests that validate all my dialog files. Feels so goooood to see the little '✅' whenever I push 🙌
Haha, yeah I was thinking of something like that! You get the immersion break still kind of, but it’s a little *wink wink*. Didn’t know Zelda did that!
I’m unsure how I feel about having characters in a game tell me how to play in terms of keyboard buttons and stuff. It’s a bit of an immersion break, but it’s also cool to have the game explained by a character rather than a popup hmm..
Oh wow I love Kingdomino! And it won Spiel des Jahres, so you know it’s quality!
So neat! Size does matter when it comes to text boxes!
With the autumn sale, Stig finally reached 500 units sold! 🙌

526 sold, 22 refunded.
28 positive reviews, 0 negative.

It’s nothing huge, but it’s a big milestone for us. And having no negative reviews makes me really happy!

Yup, exactly like that. So right now it’s like 15% is the demo, and the rest is paid. But if we switched it around so like 50 or 80% is free, maybe we would get more players is what I’m saying. To me the fact that it’s two different apps doesn’t really change much
It’s an outdated reference, but streaming services is a whole other thing. Subscription models are the worst so I didn’t even want to go there
Yeah I see what you’re saying, and I think I agree. But if there’s no discount for getting the whole thing at once, then it’s like buying a season at a time rather than buying the whole dvd box at once because you don’t know if you’ll have the time later on.
And at that point we threw in a “get the full game to keep playing” message without thinking too much. Kind of went the mobile route on accident 😶
I get that. Makes sense! I think for Stig we just thought it would be weird for people to jump in anywhere but the beginning since they need the first levels to understand what to do.
And then we thought it was nice for people not to have to repeat the same levels again.
