You don’t need to analyze it much more closely than that

Yeah, this. I worry not only about what might happen, but that if something does happen this is all going to get much, much worse.
I, a lib, do not love suddenly being deeply concerned about national security as a real issue instead of a bullshit smoke screen for a runaway police state
I do in fact stay awake at night sometimes thinking about how the MAGA ghouls are destroying actually-essential counterterrorism efforts in favor of directing resources towards brutalizing elderly taco truck workers

There was a tweet some years back that was like "Being a Democrat is like going to a concert where the band is telling everyone to calm down the whole time" and I think about it a lot
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Sounds like the new chair of ACIP, Kirk Milhoan, is even worse than the last one. This week's meeting will undoubtedly try to undo decades of science-based vaccine recommendations.
"The new leader of [ACIP] recently claimed that Covid-19 vaccines were responsible for a rise in cancer cases, and that the vast majority of women who get the vaccine in their first trimester have miscarriages."
False claims.

Texas Tech has decided it wants to be a football program affiliated with something equivalent to an air conditioning repair school
TX Tech has a flow chat for guidance on what can be taught in the university system. Two things:
1. Very little content seems to be permitted. This is partisan control of the curriculum.
2. I would not enjoy teaching under these conditions, but I really would not want to be a Chair or Dean.
